I can get on board with that. He's not Orange, but would be open to Orange staff members. I've bee. Saying for days/ weeks, that he is the most highly qualified guy out there based on resume.

I wish I knew what had happened there.

Me too, can't believe Miles isn't number 2 with all them names. And no doubt wants the job. And if we could load up with good coordinators with a UT flavor we could roll!

You just said Tennessee is the same as UMass if he comes here.

At the end of your dynasty, where did you want to end up? Exactly where Pruitt is at.

Took it the wrong way. I was using a literal example since Tennessee did play UMass in year 3 of my dynasty there. Wasn't trying to say Tennessee is a job as bad as UMass by any means.

But if you want to know, I ended up spending 22 seasons at UMass since I moved them to independent and started kicking ass and taking names by my 5th year hahaha.

If Pruitt is the guy, can we at least go out and get the best damn assistants available? We need people who can recruit and develop players.

Do we have any confidence in Tennessee's ability to get assistants, if we can't even get a head coach?

So is everyone out of the gruden to the hill ride at this point? Anyone holding on?

Im about 5/95 (gruden/pruitt)....still hanging on to the train by the fingertips

Agree. Miles is a great recruiter, and if he surrounded himself with great coordinators, he might have killed it here. I don'think Miles would coach for a long time and just wanted to retire with better success than he had at LSU.

I think Currie and Haslam...Happened there...?? :banghead2:

.

I still want Gruden, and Pruitt isn't my first choice as back up, but to get the DC of our #1 arch-enemy isn't the dumbest idea on earth.

I just wish they'd announce SOMETHING. I'm worn to a nub.

The Miles thing might be my biggest question in this whole search.

Interesting info from VQ

Matches what others have heard. Never got a definitive No from JG yesterday. And yesterday was the deadline. So pursuit of others obviously ramped. And they seem ready to move on with Pruitt or whoever having never gotten the response of No (which inherently means no "yes"). Hopefully JG doesn't bother showing up at any more games if he took it that far and every demand/counter was met to then not respond...and keep going about his other business.”

I’ll say this about whoever the coach is. After thinking about it, I look at Dabo at Clemson. Yeah he’s a bama player but who cares? He’s leaving his legacy at Clemson. Th Scott Frosts of the world who are young up and comers may want to coach their alma mater and leave a UCF. But most guys want to create their own legacy. And there’s not much of one left at Bama. After Bear and Saban, what’s left? When he leaves, that’ll be the hardest job to win the fans over because you’ll constantly be compared to the last guy. Off topic but just a random thought.
