Not US...more like a booster and fired AD

There are several in this very thread who have campaigned for Pruitt and who believe he will be a success.

I gave up hope after the Currie/Schiano shaatshow...until I got the word about the scheduled Tuesday meeting, and the continued involvement of a potential staff member over the weekend. I thought it was a slim chance, but at least we were back in the game. Apparently we fumbled it through the end zone.

Just wanted to say again Boro you're good sh**, as the East coasters around Providence would say.

Appreciate you this entire last 2 months and your directness and no bs posts the last few days. Cheers to you man.

And I am sure you were there, right? You are guessing. And wrongly so IMO.

I have a problem believing that. If Gruden got Butt Hurt over things in the past he needs to get over it. Changes have been made & we are basically begging him to be the coach with large sums of money. Man up (Gundy) and do your job if you really believe you can, else put it to rest.

2 things to also note. If someone is begging you for something, you lose respect for that person because of that.

And, maybe Gruden doesn't think he CAN do this job the way it is expected to be done? Or the way he thinks he is capable of. Maybe he just doesn't want to fail, but is intrigued by the possibility of success.

They are in NYC with Pruitt signing papers as we speak. Leaks to the media within the hour and a presser this evening.

Has anyone even taken the time to notice, that while the New York stuff was happening, ALOT of people werent active in this thread who otherwise had been. Now that its the next day some are back.

I mean I know Im a nobody that anyone listens to (until They piss me off) but that bears noticing.

Still some are missing that have been here everyday

Let's see, Bev said signed, delivered and it was a done deal. He also said Currie would look like a hero when all was said and done.
We still do not have a coach at the podium. Currie said don't believe anything until HE announces it.
Currie was put on "administrative leave" and Fulmer, born and bread UT hero, was "put" in the AD chair.
There is a mystery candidate out there!
What if Currie is still working for the administration, securing Gruden. Everything else is nothing but smoke.
People are saying players have known for 2 months!
Currie was at PM's ceremony last night.

It's all making sense now!

This is my reality that I am choosing to live in until we formally announce the next head coach. Gruden to the hill, Soon....

Imagine, if you will, a start up approaches you to come work for them with a very very good salary and benefits. Best in industry. They're established, and have hit some hard times recently, but still a pretty good gig. They're about to offer you, and suddenly the CEO offers another guy out of nowhere. The CEO is fired for it, and the company stock starts to plunge. The board of directors comes back and offers you the same package.

Don't tell me you wouldn't have reservations.

Believe what you want. Doesn't matter to me.

The proof is in the pudding so to speak. We have 2012 and 2017 and no Gruden. Insiders are batting like 0-200 combined with all of their Gruden predictions.

Also, as we have all seen recently, when "papers are signed", there are consequences to just ignoring them or backing out.

I felt the same way a few days back.
hope you don't mind, made it bigger :good!:

My BVS kicked in last night (Battered Vol Syndrome for clarification).
PREFACE: I am a huge fan of CPF. Though I admit in my spoiled younger days, I was critical of him and on board with a change. Looking back, it has been the single most destructive thing UT athletics has done in my lifetime.

With that said, rumors were always around suggesting CPF would never hire anyone he felt could take his job. Maybe that's a bit of paranoia considering how he ended up with the job (if you choose to believe the back stabbing stories). I guess there's a grain of truth to every story. Anyhow, if you are incline to believe the rumors then the question that hit me was: Will CPF hire a good/not great coach? Will he hire someone who will have some success but not outshine his legacy here? I use Saban and Bear Bryant as an example. Did Bryant, Jr. Bring in sub par coaches so nobody took his dad's place in history? Again, after the decade we have all had as fans, I can't help but have negativity creep in from time to time.

My biggest fear about Fulmer taking over the reigns of AD look like they are being realized.

I know he loves Tennessee, but I've always felt like he would struggle hiring someone that could potentially overshadow his legacy. If Pruitt is the hire, I'll feel even more sure of it.

Roll Damn Vols.

Basically you're saying he loves hisself more than the University.

Sounds believable to me.
