Not trying to be harsh, I am simply saying if you want to talk about Pruitt then go to the correct thread. I have been way too vested in this to jump ship now. I still have my beliefs and I will probably take a shot in the nads when the new HFC is introduced, but until that time we do not need anyone in the OJG thread talking about supposed candidates.

You haven't offended me. I just don't need or want someone else telling me who I should want and who I shouldn't want. I will be a fan of the Vols no matter who is the head coach, as well 99% of the people on this board. Everyone here wants what's best for the program. Until they name a coach, why not wish for the best you see fit?

I've said from the beginning that I'm cautiously optimistic about Gruden because I felt let down in '12 when it didn't happen. That doesn't mean I'm cashing in now. All you truly have is hope. You can't control who they hire so why not hope for the best you can hope for? If you have cashed in, why crap on someone else's hope?

That's what I'm getting at.

I never said team meeting, I said players know. Then I came back and clarified I don't know how many know. Three different players sent text saying we hired somebody.

So 3 players told you that but didn’t tell you who it was...

It would be pure speculation, I have no idea. I am just basing it off of being told it was a "really really good hire". I don't put Pruitt in that category, but the person it came from might.

That is a new rule then. As we’ve talked other candidates plenty in here. We all started as believers, and think that we can switch beliefs and have friendly debates in this thread. I’d much rather that be the case than to have some leave and talk bad about us in other threads. But it’s cool. I’m done talking about why I like the hire if that’s the case. We will all see soon enough. GBO!

I was told Gruden said no by one person I talked to. The other said he has no info on Gruden.

The mystery candidate is a possibility. I received some info that the hire was "really really good." That came from a player so you have to take perspective into account. I wouldn't consider Pruitt "really really good" but they might if he recruited them and made a connection during that process.

I think the mystery candidate would be preferred over Pruitt
