And there's the problem. Too much ambiguity in his pictures. You interpret it one way, others see it differently. To me, buttoning up a suit, a dark suit and tie, can just as easily be interpreted as "getting ready for the funeral."

There is a simple reason these pictures are being put out like that. Because people see what they want to see.

GV I agree..... However I just don't see him using a suit to represent a funeral ... type funeral in a GIF generator and you will not find a person buttoning up a suit

Granted, I have never negotiated a contract of this alleged size, but for the best interest of both parties, at some point this has to come to a crap or get off the pot moment. If they are waiting for Gruden, then say they are. If he said no, then say he said no. A certain group of fans, not saying anything negative about them, have this expectation that Gruden is/was in play. By squashing these Grumors, one way or the other, it will allow those fans to move on, and it will for dang sure make it easier on the next coach.

Pretty sure a lot of fan anguish would be quelled by straight up honesty instead of smoke and speculation.

Who the F cares. It's all subjective and opinion and guesses. It's all a gamble.

We will look back in 3-5 years and have an answer as to how the new hire will be viewed. Aside from that, it's no different than talking about Christmas gifts.

What have you bought and why, then i'll tell you what I bought and why then we can talk about who those gifts are going to......trivial and mind numbing.

Does anyone besides myself think that the AD office or someone associated there seems to be trying to control the narrative...

Why would someone come in here and tell us to calm down? We are simply fans who want a decent head coach and believe that Gruden is our number one choice... do they fear this thread that much?

Everyone is down today, because there is still no announcement. When you have a search (especially like this one) and you are in the media, you have to try and stay ahead and report SOMETHING.... that is their careers and they are held responsible to report something and HOPE it comes true. Right now the most realistic scenario is to hire Pruitt.... and that might happen, but most people see a post and run with it and let their emotions get in front of rational thinking.....
Take the Les story.... one Yahoo reporter says Miles is out.... everyone in our media took it and ran with it.... I wouldn't be surprised if he is still a candidate

This is my feeling too. Maybe not specifically about Les because I don't know. But just the running with stories. My goodness, the bemoaning that we were assuredly hiring Steele yesterday or the day before and the rhetoric that went along with it. And now it's Pruitt. Follow the source.
Another example: some headline says Gruden is interested in the NY Giants job. Follow the source. It was an off cuff joking comment on MNF and should not, at this time, be taken seriously at all.

Especially since Gruden is of course coming back to UT.

Optimism is in the eye of the beholder.

All I know is I'm at the same point as last year, Northwestern is a better football program than UT. The northwestern football team is a better team than UT.

I love both of my schools, for different reasons, and never in a million years would think this is possible. It's utterly depressing and makes me want to puke.
