You having to google him reflects more poorly on you then it does him. He is very well thought of and has been for several years.

Really???? I don’t know where you got your info, but my long-time friends around the UGA program say that is not so - by a long shot. This is the one and only candidate I have any information on and that info flat out says stay away. I am sure there will be some sort of phone call to Mark Richt before UT hires - at least I hope so.

Maybe...but I believe this mystery candidate is real.

Who are you thinking? I don’t have a clue. Only one I thought was Kacy Rodgers. He was in NYC and is a former player. Gruden turned it down according to a lot of people. There’s as much smoke around Pruitt as there was around Gruden, Schiano and Brohm.

-100% chance it is Gruden and -50% chance there is a mystery candidate.

We suck again...embrace it.

Can we now quit saying how UT is not trying to get an elite coach or that we always go for bargain coaches.

What about VFLs like Swain who are from Bama or even people like Kamara who PLAYED for Bama. I guarantee you if he wins, He'll be saying with them, "I don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama...WE'RE FROM TENNESSEE!" with the Players who are also from all around as well. He is a professional. The Orange will bleed off on him.

Yeah, he isn't beating Bama. I'm just hoping we can compete with SC and Muschamp.

Im just going to wait for the announcement. If it’s not Gruden, I’ll hold off on the hysteria until the season actually begins. I understand that everyone else here has 100% clairvoyance about how a coach will perform, but I don’t.

I’m not thrilled about the reports of Pruitt’s character and temperament. But hey, if it’s him, if he’s a terrible coach, and if he appears on the late news dancing on a table in a strip bar, we can unload him cheaply.

Surprised Emmert would comment on a situation such as this at a specific school. Vols are an easy target right now and national media won't call him out on it but this is not the sort of thing the NCAA pres. should be commenting on.

True. But at this point, he's probably thinking "WTF are they going to do about it? They can't even hire a coach."

If you read his old posts he says exactly that. I'm out basically and regular guy is in.

I remember that. That’s what I was saying yesterday. Everyone was excited about his posts but I felt like the original owner was trolling.

I agree, but it’s the cool thing to do apparently. Everyone pile on! We just need to try and stay positive with whoever Fulmer hires, and not to jump off the ledge when it isn’t Gruden or an established P5 coach.

Everybody grab the reins and pull back and slow this runaway steed. This is not just Phil ... it will require more than just his signature. To get The Grude ... it will take 18M ... you and I got no issue signing ... but can Bev and Joe.

Phil has to have plan B. Look what happened to Currie. What you see is Phil working on plan B.

So it will be 'glorious' or 'disappointing' .... but it will be an administration decision. We need the boosters guidance... Calling Atlanta Vol, .... Reach out and give the army marching orders .... or tell us ... patience is a virtue.

Just gonna throw this out there...Jon gruden was discussed as a possibility here not by the media so to an extent it makes sense as the mystery candidate 😁👍🏽

Swain only had Alabama connections before college, and Kamara didn't have a good experience at Bama (only played there one year too), so both aren't really good examples, IMO.
