Dude! He’s not doing anything out of bad spirit.

YES he is. ANYONE who leaves cryptic messages and won't come out and tell what they know is a bad person. ALWAYS. EVERY SINGLE TIME. They are Haslam. They are Manning. They WANT to see our program fail. THAT is why they lead fans to believe we are getting some kind of splash hire. THEN the disappointment will be even bigger.

He's a bad person, and so is anyone else that is feeding Grumors right now.

I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong. But I'm not.

Yes....please....no glass. I’ll just drink straight from the bottle.

It may not be Gruden. But it is someone big that no one including Trey Wallace knows about.

I just don't see it at this point. It looks like we are small money hiring this thing. That is what his list indicates to me. I think the mystery candidate is bunk.

If Gruden said no, there was little else UT or Fulmer could have done to make him say yes. It's to my understanding everything was given to him as requested and all it required was for him to say "let's do it." Allegedly the money was right, the staff salary was right, the conditions were right, there was never going to be a better deal put in front of him from Tennessee.

If the man is comfortable doing his thing on MNF, that's on him. If he wants to go back to the NFL, that's on him. I choose to believe we bent over backwards to accommodate the hire and there was nothing left to give. I don't choose to believe he was "afraid" of his legacy being tarnished or anything of that sort. Whatever happened happened on his side of the equation.

The one thing that sucks the most about Pruitt and why I’m just cringing over his hire is this: he’s a bama guy through and through and I can’t hear him singing “I don’t give a damn about the whole state of Alabama...!” at all. Just. Can’t. See. It.

Could there be ANY way that the "mystery" candidate is PM? I know he said he would never coach, but do you think there is any part of him that sees what is happening/happened and just says "screw it, lets get this going!" Maybe that is why phil is looking for all of the DC guys? IDK, I'm all Gruden, but just trying to find a way out of this "Steele" Trap...

We NEED a coach with head coaching experience. A big name right? Hmmm. I wanted Gruden as much as anybody here...but it's interesting that 3 of the 4 coaches in the BCS playoffs this year are all former assistants/coordinators currently on their 1st ever head coaching gigs.

No idea who PV is...

But when he first started posting he was taking up for the Haslam family.

Yes. He explained that... the boosters at that point were trying to prevent the apocalypse because no one knew what was real or fake. Once, all the boosters confirmed what we all feared, all of them changed their tone and he lead the revolution

I’d replace want with need, because of the rest of your statement. We have the ability to win with a great staff comprised of former coordinators. Even with established coaches, there is no guarantee for success. And given the current climate that is our program, not many wanted to risk their coaching chops on it. I highly doubt money was an issue.
