Here's the thing guys (trying to be the reasonable voice one last time)
Don't get too wrapped up in the whole "mystery candidate being Gruden" theory. There is a chance that could be the most epic smokescreen in history where he is concerned, but what are the chances? That we are still talking to Pruitt for DC and Tee as OC to avoid having Gruden contact them directly? Common sense says if Gruden wanted to talk to them, a simple phone call would suffice.
If anything, someone expressed interest in the position at some point yesterday that hasn't been previously discussed in the news. And it's unknown who that is, but it's probably not Gruden. Let's see how this thing unfolds and hope this name is "splashy" enough to appease the majority of the fan base, boosters and UT Admin.
I too believe we are a pinnacle program. Unfortunately, our history over the last 10 years has changed the perspective of the coaching community. The general feeling seems to be that we are a dumpster fire.
Sad but true. With that said, we are still one of the few programs that can, with the right leadership, compete for championships. We just have to find someone willing to take a chance. I don't think the A+ coaches, who are already winning, want to take the risk.
But, GRUDEN should and he could change all those perceptions by just saying YES!
To the Hill!
AV handing back not PV !
BGB isnt coming here. His dad died of a heart attack and stoops doesnt want that to happen to him. Stress free life.
Unless he realized the atomoaphere at that 2015 game and cant get enough of it.
I literally had to google this guy not to be named and background. It is a DC resume and not a HC. If you say Tee is not ready, how in the wile e UT adm coyote can you say this guy is ready?. Seriously Clark?

GV, Ive enjoyed getting to know you over the past couple of months. Ill create that OG thread for us as soon as a coach takes the podium.
As far as the search goes, Ive resigned that its over for Gruden. No more smokescreens, cloke and dagger stories or insider stories. Phil conducted this search like a traditional AD and the names weve heard are exactly who hes talking to. I dont believe for a second that he tried to land a major hire. I believe he did meet with Gruden and Gruden said no. Nothing we can do about it. Currie screwed us and left Phil scrambling. Id like to have seen what Phil couldve done from the beginning. I think he may have went after David Shaw. He plays Fulmer football. Anyway, we will know in 4-5 years when we have to do this all over again. Jmo...
What is the latest? I had a close family member pass away last night. Been dealing with funeral homes and life insurance companies and haven't had time to read all the new pages. I am too tired and don't have the energy to read them all. Can someone give a girl a summary ?
If Gruden said no, there was little else UT or Fulmer could have done to make him say yes. It's to my understanding everything was given to him as requested and all it required was for him to say "let's do it." Allegedly the money was right, the staff salary was right, the conditions were right, there was never going to be a better deal put in front of him from Tennessee.
If the man is comfortable doing his thing on MNF, that's on him. If he wants to go back to the NFL, that's on him. I choose to believe we bent over backwards to accommodate the hire and there was nothing left to give. I don't choose to believe he was "afraid" of his legacy being tarnished or anything of that sort. Whatever happened happened on his side of the equation.
