I think Gruden himself is the reason we didn’t land him. I do believe Les was our best option. I don’t understand that decision. I’m trusting Fulmer sees something in one of the DC that makes them a can’t miss. I just can’t imagine PF making a disaster hire.

It’s becoming apparent Gruden will not be coming to the hill. It’s been a blast over the past 2 months hashing it out, laughing at posts and just imagining what it would be like Thor my favorite team to not only be relevant but dominant. With the events of the past 10 days, our coaching world was turned upside down. No insider or friend who has friends or reporters could imagine an AD teamed up with a booster could completely destroy a university. But they tried. And failed. And each of us played a role in it however small it may have been. We should feel proud. We accomplished something that had never been done. All I wanted was for my school and my team to swing for the fence. And we did. We went after the white whale. We conceded to what he wanted and removed the obstacles. In the end, he said no. And I’m okay with that. This thread was way bigger than just Gruden. It took on a life of its on. So, whe tomorrow rolls around, and we have our coach, I hope Freak will allow us the opportunity to keep the interaction going. I want to come in here and gripe and complain and celebrate and complain with y’all. Have a great night!

This. I think Les is the only one that could stabilize the situation, bring in good coordinators and let them do their thing. He wants to retire with some measure of success after he was fired and would not be here long term. Also, he is a recruiting machine.
