Im not sure, I was just told he said no again earlier today. About an hour after that I got the info from another soure that a coach was hired and some players have been told. Just bringing the info I received, believe what you want.

Thanks for the info. My only point is that I can’t see how players these days could know and it not be known.

I feel angry. I've never been sold on Gruden coming here because I knew it was a road to disappointment, but the way this whole search has gone down, it still became a road to disappointment. From an incompetent AD, to a supposed war between boosters, to Fulmer not being able to attract anyone of significance, it's all just disappointment. I feel like nothing will ever be accomplished until the administration and AD are completely wiped cleaned and the influence of boosters on decision making is mitigated to a secondary role. No one booster should ever have power over the AD like Haslam has had. I'm sick of all the BS. Until a sweeping change is made, we will never be great again. I hate that we suck, but let's face it, we do. We rely on idiots to make good decisions, so there's no need to be surprised by the fact they can't accomplish jack squat. I am so f'ing pissed off right now.

just a thought. why wouldn't we announce tonite? this isn't peytons night. this is a WHOLE class of inductees. if anyone thinks peytons ego is more important than soothing a rowdy, restless and dog ass tired fanbase that's been a shizzard and the fact we need someone ON THE RECRUITING TRAIL ASAP. i just don't buy it. at all.

****DISCLAIMER****

not saying anything about it being announced tonite. just playing devils advocate here.

I’m hearing it’s over boys and girls. I’ve heard that Gruden has said no. I sure hope I’m wrong.

That is the most logical contract that I have seen posted throughout this entire process. IMO

Why would Pruitt or Tee make lateral move without the head coach in waiting title? If Tee is head coach in waiting, Pruitt will not come imo, and same for Tee of course if he was not named coach in waiting.

I honestly think that’s what most people on here feel as well. “Gruden” is the just the name of the path this thread has chosen to get back to UT football relevance.

Fulmer has talked to Pruitt twice now.

Clear about the Giants

Vague about the Vols.

Either something is going on or Gruden is being an epic douche.

Its the latter. Loves the attention and the chase. Pony up and give him what he wants, and he finds a reason to not commit. In the mean time good coaches get snatched up around us.

Weezer, understand your frustration, I feel it as well, but the one thing we did accomplish, if nothing else, was to start the healing process with Haslam out of the AD's ear every day ... it might not be much, but it's an act that had to happen before anything good couild come ... and don't lose faith ... this ain't over yet

We will see how this Tennessee hire goes down in the next 18 hours, looks as though the Vols are leaning towards making a DC the next HC for Vols. Will say Fulmer has had plenty of candidates to interview in NYC & other spots over last few days.
