Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVIII

Hiring Steele would be like walking into Rock n Rollercoaster only to find yourself on Its a Small World

Took my 8 year old daughter on Rock n Rollercoaster for first time last week. Her look of fear at the beginning changed to pure joy at the end of the ride. I am hoping this is true for all Vol fans at the end of the search.

All of this.

LSU looked stupid letting him go. Sure he's eccentric....but he did nothing at LSU but win at a high level.

He ran his course there, like a lot of coaches do after 10+ years. A fresh opportunity and challenge may be just what he needs. He's vastly more qualified than anyone else on the board.

You seem to be pushing Miles pretty hard this morning. Given up on JG?

To my volnation family,
I came home from the whole thing with my mom passing (coroner's and funeral home loading her body and trying to find all the pertinent info to take to the FH this morning) and sat down with my laptop, just to get on the board for a little distraction.

I was absolutely overwhelmed with the outpouring of support i received in this thread. absolutely stunned. i cried reading your posts, but it was a different sort of tears than i'd been shedding. i don't know what to say. thank you seems so feeble.

well, gotta go take care of business. dread it. gonna be a long week. we will have some arrangements in SC, then transported to hometown TN for service and burial.

please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Preacher,

The wife and I have been praying for you and your family during this time of loss and mourning.

We have been caregivers for our parents and watched, comforted and prayed as time and illness took it's toll. We have lost my mother, father and mother in-law over the past 10yrs. I feel for you brother...

Please let me know if you or your family need anything at all. We would be more then willing to assist or just offer someone to talk with during this troubled time.

Man, I was laying here in my bed, enjoying these sweet drops of rest falling from the sky this morning.

All snug in my sleeping bag, enjoying the posts and the good folks in here. Glad to see more of our "normal" crew.

And then it was said Gruden was worried about his image. Screwed up my whole morning. Lol

Might as well break out the rain suit and go work now.

I hope Gruden or Fulmer say something today about this while situation so we can move on or celebtate.

This holding pattern crap sucks.

Gruden til it ain't, unless he is worried about his image, then I'm not sure if I even want him..

is it odd that local radio had totally backed off the coaching search? Even FSknox....maybe its just because they are tired of talking about it...

Guys don’t underestimate the step down of CEO of Dish the day Gruden has to make a decision. Is it coincidental...was the Christmas supper from UTPaul something about Haslam..

But you take Gruden over Miles all day if it's there.:rock:SOON!

The football equivalent of Rick Barnes. And most would say that Barnes is working out okay now.

No...not at all. He's who I want.

Miles is just the most acceptable backup. I don't understand the reluctance to accept him, and the willingness to look at the B-listers who've proven nothing from two years at smaller schools.

That's all.

Okay... So if we made Les Miles impatient, and he said alright, I'm going to go on and do this other thing... Then this better BE FOR A GOOD REASON!

Paul, I love you, we all do. However, after following this obsessively for over 2 months now, I need words instead of gifs. My brain is fried.

I know I wasn't around much last week because I was on vacation, but check mrmax's stats and you'll see that the Gruden thread is all I've done for months.

Please use words.

S

sounds like he is looking for an excuse. If this really bothers him then we don't need him.

I agree. But much like most have realized, we were not the problem, but the solution. No way in hell does Gruden, or any other top coach, not realize what occurred, no matter how tenuous their ties are to UT.

We took a stand to get our University back, and in doing so, bolstered our prospects for getting UT back to its winning ways and trimming the fat (HoH).
