Does anyone think that Gruden or UT would have said something by now if he truly wasn't an option? I can't see them letting this continue unless there is hope or negotiations on both sides. Basically not saying anything in hopes or in case they work out a deal or someone changes their mind? IMO they haven't said anything because he is a possibility and there hasn't been a firm NO from either side and by being able to keep quiet even during the episode last week has been the best thing to happen. He may have been a no with Currie but by not confirming a NO they kept the door open on both sides in case they could work it out and neither parties would have to backtrack and look weak if they changed their minds.
I do hope it's Gruden!! I want the excitement I truly believe he would bring.
Whoa. Relevant. Let's discuss.

BREAKING: Dish Network CEO Charlie Ergen has stepped down from the role "to devote more attention to the company's emerging wireless business", will remain chairman.
Sry Boro, I just hate the lets beg Brohm crap.
Why beg someone who wont live up to his end of the deal
If he was that good wouldnt it be feesable that he should be better than 12-6 at Purdue?
To my volnation family,
I came home from the whole thing with my mom passing (coroner's and funeral home loading her body and trying to find all the pertinent info to take to the FH this morning) and sat down with my laptop, just to get on the board for a little distraction.
I was absolutely overwhelmed with the outpouring of support i received in this thread. absolutely stunned. i cried reading your posts, but it was a different sort of tears than i'd been shedding. i don't know what to say. thank you seems so feeble.
well, gotta go take care of business. dread it. gonna be a long week. we will have some arrangements in SC, then transported to hometown TN for service and burial.
please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is my final two cents before the announcement that is presumed to be in the next 24 hours or so:
I feel like the reason a lot of people want Gruden is not because he was ever necessarily a coaching wunderkind, but that he could be a top tier college coach. This is largely due to the fact that the name recognition and clout he enjoys would presumably lead to high level recruiting and the assembly of a top shelf staff to help Gruden transition from his lengthy time out of coaching/NFL focus to college. Add to this his UT connections and the fact that, if you believe he's in the same ballpark as a Saban/Dabo/Petersen, but is obviously more available (assuming he wants to coach), then it's low-hanging fruit.
The problem for me is, I never once considered Gruden to be a realistic get. I don't believe in smokescreens, and I don't accept any "insider" information from anyone I can't look up and see their name and contact information (meaning if it isn't reported by a reputable sports journalist, it's fake until done so).
