Sumlin is not coming back to the SEC and certainly not to a school whose last black coach cried racism.

The others are meh to slightly above meh in most people’s eyes. Not saying I agree.

I like venables because he’s been a long time coordinator and knows what big time football looks like.

Fulmer called lots of coaches Saturday to gauge interest (we mentioned Gary Patterson, Willie Taggart, Justin Fuente). Takes two to tango though. Per VolQuest sources, Patterson and Taggart have told UT no thanks. Don't know about Fuente.

Steele
Morris

But i still wish we would make an offer to Kevin Sumlin before he goes to UCF.

Fulmer will most likely consult with Chief before talking to Sumlin. If he doesn't get a ringing endorsement from him I doesn't he'll even give Sumlin a sniff.

With all the job openings he should land a really really good job being that he is so great and at such a bad school so we will soon find out what he does at a big time program I guess.

Where in that quote was I blaming him for the reduced coaching pool? I did say that I don't think Phil thinks you need a big name coach. I think him being a relatively unknown when he took over plays into it. I don't think he'll really shoot for the stars because he doesn't think it's necessary.
