Because it shows that there was widespread belief that Schiano must have known something, and that when the post was first made, he was regarded as a mediocre coach?

As opposed to the media's current portrait of him as Saban Jr. with a halo attached.

Why does it matter to us...VolNation crushed him here already.

buckfama killing it today!

We live rent free in everyone's head.

You know what I think pisses them off? We stood up for ourselves.

Never ever never has a fanbase said, we are tired of mediocrity.

Nebraska fans haven't stood up.

Do you think Michigan fans would have if Harbaugh hadn't been the hire? No, they would have taken it.

Florida fans wouldn't do it. I still think they settled with Mullen. He will be good with a flash of great every now and then but that's about it.

Tennessee people are a strong, independent lot for the most part. We support the school and team, to the point of being the most profitable school in the SEC, even though we gave been at one of our lowest points in history.

It's different being a vol fan. It's almost a birthright.

Like I said, if they screw this hire up I just won't watch but I could NEVER cheer for another team. It's in my DNA...

Here is something else that I think is amusing.

One of the Nashville sports hacks was bad mouthing the fanbase. He was saying that if the fanbase is so much smarter than the AD then let them hire the coach.

No one person is smarter than 1000, 100,000, or the fan base itself.

We as a fanbase could see that Schiano wouldn't work here. He wouldn't understand the culture. Plus like Madden always said, you are what your record says you are. He isn't a very good coach.

The talking heads try to put forth this persona of "we know better than you." They want everyone to think they are THE source for everything sports related. You have to come to us because you're uneducated and couldn't know anything that I don't know already.

If you listen to them discuss the situation at UT, it's always the fans fault.

Well it's not the fans fault. We have trusted those in charge and had been patient.

We were nice until it was time not to be nice.

None of them have the balls to do any real research and say what has been going in here for the last 10 years. It's lazy on their part but I guess it's what their comfortable with. I bet they spend more time in the make up chair than trying to be a journalist anymore.

Trot out there, give some stats on a player, an opinion on a team, make a score prediction and on to the next one.

Oh, while we are at ut, let's give an uninformed opinion on the Tennesse head coaching job. Let's bash them so we can look good to the rest of the country, give them what they want to hear.

Something like this scares the crap out of people. Your not supposed to stand up for yourself anymore. It goes against what's being pushed from the very top of our government today and has been for awhile.

Mmm, crap is good, can I have another spoonful please?

We slit that crap out on the ground, wiped our mouths with the back of our hand and shoved that spoon back in their mouth. How did that taste Haslam? Currie? Plenty of crap pie left! Here, have another.

Sorry for the rant. It's sad when people get bashed for doing the right thing. It's even sadder when the information is out there that the UT fanbase had every right to to what we did and no one chooses to report it.

All you twitter folks need to jump on coach Fulmer about this. I think Les Miles needs to be an absolute last option.

He already said he’d be a fall back for the job. There is a lot of other guys that should get an interview several different times before we SETTLE for Les.

We could do a lot worse than Les.
1. Gruden (doubtful) 2. Kiffin (PF won’t consider) 3. Leach (probably where we should go 4. Miles (acceptable, especially with Tee)

Hey Doyle, list in order your pal Phillip’s targets.

Ha!
It's funny how many referred to Philip looking and acting like a mob boss at the press conference. Well, lets just say there's a lot of truth to that observation and I ain't giving you any names even though he may have let some things slip the other night during one of our drankin sessions.

Just know this.
It's a good list.

liberalizm is a mental disorders....those people need help..

You'd get blood from a turnip before convincing them of that. It's beyond the point of feeling sorry for them.
