I can't get any farm work done!!!!i have 150 acres left to spray on the last warm enough day of the year to do it and I am sitting , stopped in this case/ih reading the Gruden thread.....SMH. Gruden to the hill!!!!! Soon please!!!

What ya spraying?

IMO. Coach Fulmer is going to call and discuss the job with several good coaches. Is Gruden one of them? I don't know, I hope. The Les/Tee deal is an excellent secondary plan. Currie is an inept idiot.

:good!: "Currie is an inept idiot".

And because he was Haslam's yes man, he was on the wrong team. And because he pulled the Schiano deal behind the other boosters backs, that makes him a traitor as well.

Any more news on his attempt to hold UT to buyout money or a possible defimation lawsuit.

This is purely my speculation, but Currie offered Gundy after the Schiano mess. I can’t imagine that would’ve been approved if University lawyers were concerned about another buyout.

We live rent free in everyone's head.

You know what I think pisses them off? We stood up for ourselves.

Never ever never has a fanbase said, we are tired of mediocrity.

Nebraska fans haven't stood up.

Do you think Michigan fans would have if Harbaugh hadn't been the hire? No, they would have taken it.

Florida fans wouldn't do it. I still think they settled with Mullen. He will be good with a flash of great every now and then but that's about it.

Tennessee people are a strong, independent lot for the most part. We support the school and team, to the point of being the most profitable school in the SEC, even though we gave been at one of our lowest points in history.

It's different being a vol fan. It's almost a birthright.

Like I said, if they screw this hire up I just won't watch but I could NEVER cheer for another team. It's in my DNA...

UT fans -- all of us -- changed how athletic departments view coaching searches moving forward. The power of social media has been exposed.

If you don't have a finger on the pulse of your fans, you will pay dearly.

Can't imagine being behind on 150 acres. We have right at 56 and that is stressing me. Will take all winter to get caught up.

When it gets planting time, consider Herbstreit's mouth as a tilling attachment. Conveniently would double as a fertilizer spreader. :good!:

I don't the a defamation suit is going to hold water, he's a public figure and any information 'used' as an excuse not to hire him was public record. If there was any kind of contractual obligation duly signed by the University, meaning legally signed by all parties, were in effect, that's a different story - breach of contract. But I don't think that was the case either. There may have been a MOU, but I'm not sure that was duly signed and even if it was, I'm still not sure it would hold up as a contract. I'm not a lawyer, there are some here, perhaps they can shed some light on this.

Defamation seems waaaay unlikely. I mean, the University never said anything about Schiano — just the media and the fans. The investigation details are public record. And what’s he going to do, sue the fans? Haha. Good luck on collecting.

I’m guessing the university settles with him over the MOU, even though it wasn’t fully-executed. It’s a detrimental reliance issue. We could probably win the lawsuit, but would just be ugly ... easier for both sides to settle and put this thing to bed.

All of us with acreage are stressing, lol. I try to do a little everyday, but I have to follow this search too much:) I guess I could quit my day job to create more outdoor time lol.

Regardlessnessly of the hire, I hope we can get Austin Thomas back home too. That’s a major win. I believe Gruden or Miles make that a possibility.

I'm afraid quitting your daytime job wouldn't help. I was off the week of Thanksgiving and the Friday before...still stayed on the computer watching the thread.
