Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVII

The new hot boards still show the same old candidates. Miles, Tee, Morris, and a slew of other coordinators. So what make you guys think that Gruden is actually a possibility at this point? Not being negative just looking for info that could boost my meter up from 0%, where it has been since last Sunday's debacle.

Thanks for linking the count Haslamovich story. So if the writer has an inside source, we’re getting gruden? Correct?

I need to pick another pro team to pull for. As a browns fan I am still stuck with Big Jim screwing things up.

My condolences.

Btw, Cleveland in the winter, w/ lake effect, was enough to make me never want to go there again despite having great experience with locals.

Reset. They don’t know.

Tennessee, the Braves, and the Browns. It has been a long few years for you, for sure. I'm not an NFL follower, so the Preds have kept me going.

In response to my prior post above, way way back in an early Gruden thread, the same friend told me then that the consensus was to hire Gruden, and also a staff of potential future coaches. The name then was Cooter. The thought was if and when the head coach left, UT would have the successor in place without having to go outside the family.
A lots changed. Cooter could now be Tee. Again this is not fact. Just prior talk that I received so take it as such.

I’m not sure it’s Gruden. But I trust he’s a real possibility.

I asked Santa if Gruden was coming. He laughed. I told him Volnation said so and he said “they’re all out of there minds.” He said expect Fulmer to mess it up. TIFWIW

Your Santa is actually Saban in disguise. Easy to make that mistake. Similar spelling.

I don't think by a booster, but by the university. Seems they figured out that they can get free of property taxes by shifting ownership to a tax-free institution (like the state university).

At least, seems that's what I read.

This only works if it is used for official university business, otherwise property taxes will have to be paid.

I just hope we get some information today. I am having surgery tomorrow and will not be able to stay tuned to any news. So Murphy's Law states that the new coach will be announced and I will not know a damn thing. And if I do hear anything i may think it is the meds talking.
