The Grude News, the morning edition. For those just joining us...

OX0yQ.gif

I'm not sure even where to start after yesterday's events. But I'll start with my utmost admiration at what my Vol Brothers and Sisters pulled off in the last week. Never before has a fan base ever even come close to doing what we did to get done what we knew we had to. In one word: amazing. We went from downtrodden masses after a complete disaster of a season to energized and focused on a single goal. Don't listen to the media or the idiots on SEC Nation. We did it by showing the leadership at UT and, in turn, the world what we were all about. The Power T isn't dead and we showed them it's a lifestyle, not a logo.

From the entire Volnation News Team, I'm Grand Vol and alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

This is a must read today. If you didn’t go back and check it out. Great job, gv!

We can move Mountains if need be!

I tell Freak he needs to go ahead and give me that "Volnation Guru" label. I'm halfway joking (I'm serious if you're lurking, Freak) but in seriousness, you deserve it way more than many on here.

I haven't seen it discussed yet, but what do you guys think about Herm Edwards taking the ASU job?

I heard a discussion about it on the radio and they mentioned Gruden a couple of times since they are in similar situations.

Nobody seems to be surprised or dismayed by that hire, which makes me wonder why people make the same arguments against Gruden (ie out of the game too long, never a college coach, he'd never leave his high paying cush job, etc)

Leach was the OC at UK back in the late 90's. He's also been a head coach in 2 other P5 conferences. It isn't like he doesn't understand what top tier competition looks like.

He wouldn't be my first choice for coaches, but he'd be a more than solid hire.

Yes!..but coaches do not last in the SEC if they even have the slightest foul up the competition here is just way different and anyone will tell you that

Haha agreed ,when he asked that question i cringed, that's takes balls to ask for 1 and 2nd her response was just perfect and I laughed with relief like wow John is a dumbass

He was a prime reason we have been in this hell hole for the past 10 years. He was a major proponent of firing Fulmer to begin with! I refuse to click on any article that has his name in the byline. He is a no nothing smartass.

Looking back, if we get JG, this'll all be worth the wait. If we had gotten him after Kentucky it would've been the longest off-season ever! Still will be but at least this has cut a month off.

To quote from part 3 of the Rocky Top Revolt series on lastwordoncollegefootball.com

"But to shape the narrative solely on Schiano completely misses the real story. Never before in college football has a fan base been so ruthlessly effective in forcing such a quick and decisive change of a high-level administrative action. It truly was a historic day in college football. This story alone is worth a book unto itself."

can you link this/these please.

I did in a thread somewhere just because. Left after that, so don't know the results.

Two counterpoints:
(1) Gruden might not have to have the same level of control with an AD that will support him 100% (Fulmer v. Currie)
(2) PF will do what is best for UT. He's not a control freak, never has been. He's a team guy-doesn't seek credit for what the team does.

EXACTLY! When people have the same goals and mutually like and respect each other control takes on a completely different meaning! SOON!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a look at Navarre, but do it soon, it's the fastest growing area in Santa Rosa County.

I have, but the senior level fed gig is keeping me tied down. As much as I would like to pull the trigger there would need to be a serious financial incentive to make it worth it. And I'm not seeing a lot of opportunities to that end in the area.

BTW, is there bubble building there again?

I've had the pleasure of representing quite a few folks who worked at Eglin. Don't know why for sure, but my very favorite clients have all been pilots. Maybe because they are so detail oriented and document everything so well, it saves me a ton of work. :)

That's because we always have to CYA. Well our own.

Honestly curious just see if his coaching abilities can back up his mouth because he didn't pan out at all coaching in the NFL,it should be good for recruiting at least he will win the living room

Very nice of you to say that, but no I don't. So many reached out through email willing to help in any way they could. Who could have imagined Volnation as a collective unit, being so unified?

Indeed, and it was the first question asked during the press conference. She shut him down. Couldn’t of happened to a nicer chap.

I have this feeling Sigmon probably hitched his ride to Currie.

However, he's a powerful ally if he could be converted to the cause with a lot of contacts and knowledge. However, if he had anything to do with what went on last week, it's bye bye birdie for him. Fulmer needs a clean slate if he can't be trusted.

And you can bet that Phil knows where Sigmon allegiances were.
