Appears there may be some on going negotiations/discussions with the University and Currie on separation in regards to financial settlement. That's also why there's been no formal statement from the University at this point.

Dude, our biggest problem has been that we have had guys who don't care making the hires.

Since 2002 we have had a facilities guy, a financial bammer and now a fundraiser.

Fulmer wants to win and everything in the AD has to point towards winning or it won't happen.

We have had no shot at winning because we haven't cared about winning. That can change here.

Here's what we've needed all week: a press conference. DiPietro and Fulmer need to come out and say this has been an unfortunate situation and we're going to fix it and get Tennessee back on track. I hope they leave Davenport out of it-- she's been a powerless pawn in this. If coaches think UT has regained stability under competent leadership, they might reconsider. That said, Fulmer will have his list-- has probably made calls and will move swiftly.

I am not giving up on Leach. Maybe this all ends up in one glorious ruin of complete and utter incompetence but we somehow manage to come out on top and not hire someone like Steele. Please let us come out on top somehow

I don’t trust Phil to make a good hire further than I can throw him (which isn’t far)

Hope he proves me wrong, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be one of his old buddies he brings in (Steele)

I agree, I'm just pissed that we lost the best coaching candidate we've had during the entire process.

He's going to want a Tennessee guy. That means Steele. His name keeps coming up from Hubbs, who hasn't missed on much of anything.

This is going to sound stupid, but I much prefer Fulmer making the decision to hire Steele than Currie making the same decision.

I do think more coaches will be willing to talk to Fulmer than Currie. Everyone on the outside of this could see that Currie was going to be fired. Why would a coach come in knowing there's about to be a change at AD?

Fulmer very well could make a bad hire. There's no guarantee otherwise. But it won't be because Haslam forces it down his throat. And that might not be fruitful for this particular search, but it will certainly be in the future.

Well, Leach is still out there. So is Les. Still good candidates on the board.

Like I said, proof is at the podium. He brings in a winner, great. He trots out Steele, this was all for nothing.
