Y'all can cheer about Currie getting fired, but IMO hiring a coach like Leach is a bigger sign that the Haslams lost power than Currie getting fired. The Haslams control the people above Currie. Of course they would fire him for trying to hire Leach.

I wonder if Currie didn't try to force their hand with the Leach situation, knowing he would send them over the edge and get him out of that hell.

I don't have a single thought. What the **** is going on. These people need to write the spinoff for Game of Thrones.

Fans should march on the hill in full force demanding Haslam leave this University. We should flood UT campus demanding it.

A big reason I wanted the Leach hire was because he is literally the last coach in the country the Haslams would want. Him getting hired would be a huge sign.

Currie getting fired means nothing. He's getting fired by a Chancellor and BOT the Haslam installed.

I wonder if this was the cause for Skeeter's fireworks?

You all are ****ing nuts.

If I would've asked 24 hours ago if Currie should be fired and Fulmer inserted it would have gotten 100% approval. "Currie is just a Haslam puppet!"

Now that he supposedly has Mike freakin Leach on board he's a Saint and now Fulmer is the Haslam puppet.

Y'all need to show more consistency. I am ecstatic that Currie can't **** this up anymore.

Currie has royally screwed up and deserves to lose his job. At the same time, he is a symptom of Tennessee's dysfunction, not the cause.

Both can be true.

Could Haslam actually hire Schiano now? He’s got the MOU from Greg signed

OMG

Why would “now” help? Currie wasn’t the one that called the Schiano hire off...nor Peyton according to some of our fringe. :)

Last night nobody could find him. He went rogue, hired a really good coach and it was squashed.

Now I feel bad for him.

Same here.

Basilio is reporting that he was not authorized to go to LA, was told to return when he landed, met with Leach anyway, and is now being punished.

Tony B says that Currie disappeared last night. They could not find him.

Power struggle going on now against the Haslams and it is very real.

Currie was told to come back to Knoxville and he ignored them and went and interviewed Leach anyway. He was called to a meeting with Bev this morning. Meeting lasted 9 minutes. He was told his services are not needed.

I don't understand why people are crapping on Fulmer if he does end up taking Currie's place. Currie was a puppet for Haslam. Phillip Fulmer will not be a puppet for Haslam.

Several years ago three schools decided they wanted to win. So there boosters took hands off and let their coaches run the football program. So now every year Bama, Clemson and Ohio State are competing for championships. Every year. Until UT boosters do the same, we will have this mess every 3 or 4 years.

So Currie brought us Leach but Haslam said no? or Fulmer ? Who doesn't want Leach?

Currie's fired for bringing us the best candidate in the search and now we're going to hire Kevin Steele. Yeah that's not good news.

Currie was brought in as a "Yes man". Then after the Schiano debacle, he has received a lot of grief and tried to go make up for it with Gundy, and Bev declined the buyout.

It's a power struggle at the Top. Currie has actually tried to rite the ship but to no avail.

I'm not taking up for Currie cause he should have had a backbone to start with, Haslam is a cancer to this program

Edit meant to say Brohms buy out
