Right - and that's my thing too. He's 100x better than Schiano and Doeren.

I guess I'm just speaking for myself, which is fine, but I'd have much preferred to get the Brohm or Sumlin deals done. I don't know that they were every super realistic options though.

Fair enough.

Mike Leach is an accomplished Jeff Brohm on steroids.

This guy can’t win here. It’s gonna be a 3 year maybe 4 year marriage.

However I will say this. I would rather have Leach the way we got him than to be force fed that 💩 sandwich option 1 of Greg Schiano they tried to serve us.

SO he can be successful in any other conference but the SEC? Beats Stanford and USC. Beat Texas when they were actually a good team. I believe he will win his share here but the best thing about it is we would be getting an experienced coach that could stabilize this program and make one that top coaches will want to come to.

I've gone from, "this would be a fun, but dumb hire" to "DO IT!" in less than 24 hours.

Anything to shake up the collective stupidity known as Haslam, Currie, Davenport, DiPietro. The promos of Pirate Captain Leach on his "ship" in the Vol Navy outside Neyland would attract national and recruit attention nationwide. When you add in his offensive experience and learning that defense is important, that's winning. That he would fit in with most our idiots is just a plus.

I doubt Sumlin ever gave us any chance at all. No way that was happening.

But but SEC dominance

It’s reported that Jimmy said he didn’t think we’d meet with Leach. Uhhh Jimbo Feldman and Espn have confirmed we did.

I'm trying to figure this out. We keep hearing that we've contacted all these coaches, then, like magic, we never contacted them. Every single time that Currie has supposedly met with the coach, a report by a dingus like Hyams tells us we haven't. Other than Schiano this has happened each time. Someone is lying.

So is Kingston happy with this potential hire?

I’m all about Leach

But fans will need to be patient. I think he will purge our roster and have a few really tough seasons while he builds up with his style players.

And by his style I mean players that can handle being berated. Mike Leach has no filter

This search has taught me many things but one of them are the dudes claiming they have sources being FOS like Kingston. So we are all in this, in the dark, together.

Even UTprof was being mislead last night, really not a straighter guy on the site, so we in the dark together for sure

Bottom line, we're running out of options and Mike Leach is a proven winner. Not sure he'd get us a title, but we're to the point where our other options might be guys who wilt under the pressure and have us losing 9-10 games a season.

I'll roll with Leach.

And if not Leach, we absolutely must look into Kiffin and/or Tee.

Somebody who tweets, spam Clay Travis with pro leach tweets and get him to start another movement in favor of Mike leach to UT. Students outside AD chanting "Hire Leach" or something

He's going to have to be committed to running the ball more. That's just a fact.

His staff, besides the DC, does not impress me at all. He'll have to replace more than half those guys to be successful recruiting in this conference.

I don't think elite high school players are going to want to play for him. He'll get good players, I have no doubt. But the cream of the crop? I have my doubts.

I asked around and I don't think the current players are happy about it at all after Sumlin's name was floated.

Listen, I like Leach and think he's a very good X's and O's coach and I will support him. I just hope he'll be able to get the talent to succeed here. We'll need a very deep defensive roster in order to keep up with our offense. The defense will be on the field a lot vs. a lot of power running teams.

Hey can you do me a little favor?
