And he adjust his offenses and his schemes to the type of players he can get.

He usually tries to attract kids that are deemed too small or too slow for power 5 programs.

Not going to get 4-5 Stars at TTU or WASH ST. Just not gonna happen. Too many other big Programs within each state and surrounding areas.

Leach is a great coach. Little quirky but he a great offensive mind.

He would be able to recruit here and would adjust his offense and scheme to the talent level that UT would attract.

He would have to adapt to trying to slow it down a little bit to keep his Defenses fresh and a top flight DCO would very important til he could recruit at a top level.

Of course the only rebuttal you would have is something you think may possibly happen in the future.

That’s because the past shows that even when Tennessee sucks, recruits come.

We could do a whole lot worse than Leach. He has a pretty impressive coaching Tree. It could be said that he taught Art Briles everything he knows about offense. Sonny Dykes, Lincoln Riley, Dana Holgerson, and Ruffin McNiel were all assistant coaches under him. 122-80 and historic bottom feeder programs Texas Tech and Washington State. Would be entertaining on and off the field. I'll take it.

I didn't want Doeren, but I think Leach would have about the same amount of success here. Leach is a much better coach, but he will get crushed on the recruiting trail by SEC and ACC coaches, then crushed by SEC defenses in the fall.

No, I said earlier, as long as you bring someone in that can coach and RECRUIT, then we can get over the hump. You can't bring in a coach that is good with x and o's, but cannot recruit in the SEC... they will get eaten alive. You are watching our current class implode while our SEC rivals are thriving aren't you?

Leach's offense tends to get ripped apart by great defenses. See the Washington game. Justin Wilcox held him to three points. Bob Stoops did a number on him when he was at Texas Tech.

Sumlin is a dynamic recruiter. Great offensive mind. Probably a chip on his shoulder. No buy out. Available. Already recruiting some of same people.

Man it’s just so easy

That is where assistant coaches come into play. Hire a couple of good recruiters as position coaches and Tennessee will have plenty of talent.

I would rather see Les than Leach. I like leach but the experience factor for me his huge. Les has been on the biggest stage before. He can handle the pressure. I think his ties in the south would pay dividends and he could assemble a great staff as well.

The clown show continues. Mike Leach? For the love of god please call Les and end this madness.

Leach would get busted by all of our rivals on the recruiting trail. Not even mentioning the defensive deficiencies.

You can’t even make this stuff up.

You said we don’t recruit ourself anymore. If that’s the case no coach is willing gonna take this awful job that is impossible to recruit to lol.

You mean the current class? That doesn’t even have a HC? What exactly do you expect? That happens everywhere a coach is fired..............

5 years?????? Oh, so you are ready for us to suck 5 more years and then have a chance? We will have another coach in 5 years at this rate.
Read your post - "even when Tennessee sucks, recruits come". That doesn't even make sense. Yeah so I guess the recruits that come suck according to your math.

But if he doesn't want it you can't make him. I don't think he has any desire to be here. He's friends with Butch. I'm sure Butch has filled him in of the Currie/Haslam mafia.
