Leach is 38-37 and 26-28 in conference. His offense recruits about like Georgia Tech does. It is a specialty offense that doesn't translate to the NFL. Defensive players don't go to Tech because they learn nothing practicing against the option all day, same with Leach's offense. He is a funny guy, but that isn't going to get him recruits going against Smart, Dabo, and Saban. No big time players are going to play in a gimmick offense.

The hire is gonna suck. Just get ready. But it could certainly suck a lot worse than Mike Leach.

Leach would be a square peg in a round hole no matter where he is because he is so eccentric and his offense is so different.

No real reason it would be more or less of a square peg in a round in Knoxville than any other place.

Only unique challenge may be the level of defense he’d be up against in the SEC vs what he has consistently seen in the PAC 12 and Big XII.

Honestly we need someone to come in here light it up recruiting from now til signing day. I think we're taking like 25 guys this class. Just go get Les or Tee

No it doesn't. it used to, but not now. Lord I am getting tired of this. People stop saying this. If you have a pulse and watched this season, you can understand that we do not have enough talent on this team. See, its simple, we went 0-8 in the SEC... understand? Leach walking in here is not going to hit some magic button and make recruits come here.
I don't care what anyone says about whoever this jackleg idiot AD gets to come here and coach. If they can't recruit, then they are SCREWED. PERIOD.

This team that went 0-8 in SEC play had 4 straight top 15 classes.
Talent is there and always will be.

If they are not going to sign a legitimate HC that can win in more classic style, I would love to see Leach here. He would win 8 or 9 games a year and be an absolute laugh riot to listen to until it all blew up. He would have Majors so shook up it might sober him up. I can see him telling his stories in the Manning VIP room at the Anderson center knocking back the drinks and smoking stogies with the boosters. They wouldn't know what hit them.
