All we can do is make sure they give him the resources, money, and coaches so he can thrive here.

This. and if currie/haslam won't fund his hiring of assistants, and he fails, they can't pin that on the fans.

if they hire him, they have to support him and gamble that he'll fail anyway.

if he's got adequate support, i dont think he would.
we'd take our lumps for a couple years, but he'd succeed.

Completely agree, I love Tee and will always support our former players (Except Arian Foster), but I do not think he would succeed in this job right now either. Plus he deserves to go somewhere with less turmoil and be able to properly learn to be a head coach without Haslam or Currie trying to ruin him.

When/IF he comes, he needs to have a decent chance to be successful. Now is not that time.

Tee should be far enough down the list currently, but if a new AD is announced, he's not even on the list.

Why is everyone enamored with TFM? I've said this several times before, and will say it again, without Al Wilson, Travis Henry, Jeff Hall and sheer luck, TN doesnt win the first BCS championship. He is nowhere near ready and will be made into a fool.

Ya know, it would be interesting to hear from former coaches about what it’s really like to coach at UT. I wonder how much input Haslam has in that. I would like to think none but know I’m not so certain. No, I’m not referring to gameplans or game-day situations though that would make a lot of sense. Maybe it wasn’t Jones and his infallible system but Haslams offense.

There is a reason that no other school has offered him. Plenty of other SEC schools had openings this year, plus all the openings in other places previous years. Usually that means there something well known wrong with him. The “taboo” that he got from being fired at LSU should have worn off by now.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm grateful for Tee and his service to UT, but he'd be worse than Doeren. He's widely regarded as unproven as a position coach and coordinator. HC duties would swallow him whole.
