How many folks think if Sumlin happened, he would, or could bring in an upgrade DC? Chavis is out to pasture. I will always appreciate him when he was in his prime at UT, the CHIEF, man when we had the guns on D, he could stick it to them, but he is too old for this day and age football.
How much do you think it would cost us to get Steele over here to DC with him?

Chavis might be passable, but they can't run the hurry up that Sumlin likes to run. If he insists on that, he'd have to bring another DC that's not Chavis.

The Visor. That’s the missing link. We’ve not had a visor wearing coach since Kiff. See where I’m going???
Sign his ass tonight and let’s roll

Might be the unfortunate truth, but I hope they legitimately go for him.

This better not be the case. I have noticed that as well, but if our university that acts so inclusive (which is a good thing) to privately discriminate for the hiring of the highest paid employee in the state, they should fire everyone from the president on down and start over.

That’s positive from McMurphy. Man, I would love Sumlin at UT. I just think he’s a cool customer.

For all you Kiffin lovers out there, just think for a second about the relative maturity and leadership of a Sumlin vs. a Kiffin. That tells you all you need to know about why Kiffin is not and should not be an option.

This.

You don't want to put cuffs on Sumlin's O with a DC that cannot adjust on the fly to the tempo. Needs to be a younger guy that's gone against the uptempo a lot. Chavis has proven he cannot handle tempo well.

I suspect they have slammed on the brakes to regroup. Plus they seen what giving out too much info gotta find that balance of giving out info and keeping info close to the vest.
