Stop with the Tee isn't ready garbage

Dabo Swinney was a WR coach when he took over Clemson. Lincoln Riley is 34 and was only a coordinator.

Do you think Nebraska wishes they had hired Scott Frost 3 years ago instead of Mike Riley?

Just freaking do it. It is the only way to stop the bleeding and unite the fan base.

Dabo Swinney was at Clemson for 6 years before he took over has HC. He understood that program inside and out and could just focus on learning how to be the HC. Additionally Clemson never finished with fewer than 8 wins in the 3 years leading up to him taking over. That program was already in pretty great shape compared to Tennessee.

Lincoln Riley took over a program performing at an elite level and has done a great job of maintaining that. It doesn't mean that he would be able to elevate a struggling program.

We need someone who is able to rebuild this program from the ashes and Tee Martin is a questionable choice for that job.

It's rumored there is beef between tee and peyton I'm a half way intelligent middle aged white man that believes what he sees and it looks to me like tees not getting an interview because of the color of his skin qualified or not he won us the only national championship in my lifetime he at least deserves an interview but if I was tee if John Currie called me after trying to hire Shiano id tell him to get bent

You are absolutely right. But at what point do you have to go that route in order to keep the fans from checking out and give the players someone they would want to play for? I think we are dangerously close to being there.

Selecting a guy who isn't qualified for the position isn't going to prevent the fans from checking out in the long run. The fans will get behind Tee at the beginning. They also got behind Dooley and Butch at the beginning, but blind enthusiasm only lasts so long. After a season or two, it won't matter what his name is.

So, you might as well give the job to the guy who has the best chance to win, regardless of name. And if you take the name out of it, Tee wouldn't be on anyone's list.

It was said that Tee scored an 11 on the NFL Wonderlic test. If that's true, he'll likely NEVER be ready. No offense to him, it just is what it is.

Until we don't win the East within the first couple of years. Then this fanbase will turn back into rabid wolves.

That is ridiculous. Race has nothing to do with it. Tee has been a college coach since 2009 and has 2 years of coordinator experience. Before that, he spent 3 years coaching in high school (and was not even a HC there). How many of our fans would be happy if we interviewed a coach with his background, if it wasn't Tee? Just because he won a national championship does not mean he is qualified to be the HC.

Can anyone think of any examples of a major program hiring a coordinator as a head coach and it ending badly?

I didn't say that he should be hired I just said he deserves an interview Google his coaching history all you want in just saying it's disrespectful as f*** that the man hasn't even been given the opportunity to interview

As with any promotion, no one is truly ready. It is how you deal with the new position, especially the leadership part of it that makes a difference.

Swinney was elevated mid-season on an interim basis and it was pretty widely accepted that he'd be gone at the end of the season along with the rest of the staff. Going 4-2 and assembling a phenomenal recruiting class was the only thing that saved him.

Lincoln Riley was an internal hire, an offensive coordinator who was elevated on the specific recommendation of a universally-respected coach who could pretty much dictate whatever he wanted.

Neither is a comparable case to this.

This. I'm getting sick of hearing about Dabo; not the same situation at all.

They are comparable because neither coach would have been picked by the fans and neither was thought to be "ready". Well it is possible to learn on the job.

If we are going a route other than a proven, big time head coach, Tee should get the call. If anyone deserves a vote of confidence from us, it’s Tee.

Rumor is our beloved 'Peyton Manning' doesn't want him !! I like Peyton less today than yesterday.

Dabo found Chad Morris and gave the entire offense to him and got out of the way after his record went from 9-4 to 6-6 in his second season.

Dabo wasn't ready and nearly failed until that happened.

Thing was he didnt fail and making that decision proved he was ready.
