All time low. They finalize with Doeren and I am with Larry. I will take a passive interest on game day but will go out of my way to not spend one cent that benefits UT.

If he was the best we could get I would say give it a chance. He is not. Les is begging for the job. Tee is basically doing the same and even though I would hate to see one of my favorite VFL's dragged into this mess he might be just what we need.

I have never said this or felt this way before. I gave Dooley and Butch every chance in the world to become winners here.

Bottom line is UT is not a place where losing ACC coaches come to all of a sudden become winners.

The night of the 85 sugar bowl was the most glorious ass whooping we’ve ever delivered. Watch it sometime. Read about that season

I’ve watched that game a couple of times since it was before my time. It was a great game. Literally no one expected us to win, much less give us a chance.

Really not too impressive to attack the man. He's merely responding to an offer if the reports are true.

This. You know what? I don’t like the choice either but that is where this current administration has gotten us. DD knows and understands the current climate in Knoxville right now and if he says you know what, I want to be there, I want to coach those players, and I want to be a part of what UT is about then that says a lot about him.

We had the chance and the money to start over with a helicopter coach after Butch was fired. Many people believe Butch was fired or in the process of being fired after UGA. If that was true, they have had that long to come up with a plan. That long to lut something together to come up with a coach Volnation would be proud of.

They had plenty of time to do this even before fans erupted on the Schiano hire. This is why people are outraged.

Here we sit waiting on Dave Mother effin Doeren to respond to a BS offer from UT.

You have Les Miles wanting the job. You have Dave Doeren sleeping on it? It should be a no brainer.

Why would they hire Doeren? Honestly, what are the positives? There is nothing to point to at all.

Les Miles will take the job. Why would you hire Doeren over Miles? I understand if you’re hesitant with Tee, it’s stupud, but I understand. But Miles is proven. What are you doing?

Or that he knows he is going to end up being fired in 3 or 4 years, collect a nice fat buyout, and than get back into coaching at another school.

Well, that was inartfully stated, but he was just saying all the things that happened that “if you told me that before the game, I’d have felt good about winning.” Definitely get how it comes off bad, though.

This is a weak sauce argument against him, there are many better. I hope the twitter twits dont latch onto this.

welp. Too late.

Just trying to find what Kendrick's mom was talking about. Its probably a brief moment on honesty but most coaches probably have thought it.

Doeren, Doeren, Dooooooereeeeeen
I'm begging of you, please don't take this job
Doeren, Doeren, Dooooooereeeeeen
Please don't take this job just because you can.

-Dolly

(I don't even know how you pronounce his last name, but it fits, and don't question Dolly)

Works for me. Oddly enough, I just finished reading one of those click bait articles that was about Dolly. I'm going to take it as a sign that GOOD things are coming today for VolNation.

If not, then I will just get more drunker. :)

I don't want to bash the guy, but all it really says abouy him is that he's willing to brave the slings and arrows for that sweet, golden parachute at the end of his 3-yr tenure.

One thing I can proudly say is that I'm not a fairweather fan. I've stuck with the team through the good and the bad, and that will continue.

Anyone that has stuck by UT this long and continued to spend money on games and merchandise can say that. There’s not any fair weather fans at this point. I’m not saying I won’t still be a fan, but I’m not spending a dime on UT after this.

Thing about it is, I feel like I know the history of Tennessee football better than most on here. Not bragging, I've just studied it. Got a book at the house that covers every championship team and highlight moment Tennessee has had since Neyland. Read that thing cover to cover. I've just never actually experienced it. About as far back as I can remember is the 04 season. Sucks man.

If Ole Miss had lost Doeren would have been there.

We hired a guy that was going to a program on borderline death penalty.

Yay Vols
