*sigh* half the football team is following Dave Doeren on Twitter now..

There's just no way Currie is this stupid. I refuse to believe it. I'm an optimist at heart and try to see the best in people. A NC State guy who narrowly avoided getting fired isn't a viable candidate for such a huge promotion.

I think Doeren is a done deal. I just listened to a radio link from another thread and it said that Currie didnt even meet with Brohm face to face. Just had a phone conversation. Also, that a Kiffin deal was proposed and Currie shot it down.

Currie and Davenport will ensure that whichever coach they want will stick this time. Papers will be signed so its legally binding. We are getting Doeren and there will be little we can do about it.

Yup, that is definitely not a good sign. And you guys are right, they are going to announce this overnight while most of us are sleeping or first thing in the morning so the reaction will not be as significant.

This was so royally screwed up. We won with rejecting Schiano, it almost turned into a huge win with Gundy or Brohm, but now we are going to end up with somebody even worse than Schiano. I probably will be finding something else to do with my Saturday's now, but at least I do not have to burn all my UT stuff. I'll always love Tennessee, but I am not going to keep being so invested and spending so much money on donations, tickets, gear, etc to have a piss poor product on the field.

Let's just hope this one falls through too. If not, I'm ashamed. I'm ashamed that we do not have more boosters and people with real influence who stand up against Haslam and Currie.

We can’t keep protesting or you will alienate the football players. Watch for some transfers to be announced soon.

If that cant support a winning coach then let them transfer.. They cant catch a ball.they fumle, cant block,no leadership on team...Go ahead transfer..I want a winning coach and winning players.

As pi$$ed off as I am right now, which is pretty pi$$ed, I can’t help but feel awful for our players. If I were a top talent, I’d bolt this sh&&ho$$ ASAP if this goes down. This dude is worse than Butch Jones.

If they hire that broccoli fart of a coach, I’m out. Not exaggerating. I won’t watch a game until the “is this the week Doeren is fired” narrative inevitably starts (and it will within 3 seasons, maybe 2).

Sharing what I've learned through sources

-NC State is offering Doeren 5 years, 3 million per year. So the fifth year has been added. State also gave $750,000 to add to pool for assistant coaches and will guarantee contracts up to three years. That's a big deal for assistants.
.
-hearing Tennessee is offering 4.5 million per year for five years. I'm told Tennessee AD was in Raleigh today.

-I'm told Doeren will sleep on it and decide tomorrow. I'm guessing something should come by lunch.

-my personal feeling (despite disparity in numbers I've been told) is Doeren will stay. Maybe I'm just looking at it from glass half full perspective. Bottom line- Tennessee fans don't support the hire. State fans (for the most part) want him to stay.

As always, things are fluid and will report if anything changes. I think Cory picked up on some stuff at game and will share what he's heard once he gets home from game.
