I guess this is over once there's an official announcement. Last time we had a thread for the coaching search family in the Pub Forum for awhile. Maybe we can do that again? Or maybe I'll just catch up some of the stuff I've neglected the past few weeks.

So we went from a La Tech coach, which didn't work (understatement), to a Cincy coach, which didn't work, to a Purdue coach ? At this rate, wait, the batteries in my calculator are down, I'll hang up and listen

UT's Process is Broken... Unless major changes are done from the top down we will always have this problem. To change things we stop paying for sh**.

So if reports are true, and Currie introduces Brohm at the podium, am I safe in assuming Operation Valkyrie has failed?

It’s not done. They haven’t reached a agreement on money it will be a five or six year deal around 5 million is what Brice is saying.

Maybe not, but those other coaches know that he is a damn good coach who is well respected within the coaching community.

He needs only two things to win and win big. A good recruiting coordinator and a good DC hire. He will take care of the rest.

Not asking for much there. Just two more chances for the AD to screw things up.

I'm disappointed we didn't get Gruden, and I'm fuming mad over the Haslam/Currie scam. I don't know how to reconcile what is actually not a bad hire vs how pissed I am at how we got here. It should have been Gruden.

Is Brohm the "WOW" hire we were hoping for...I would say no. But compared to Dooley, Butch, and the other options that were floated (e.g., Morris, Schiano, Doeren, etc.), he is a rockstar in his own right. We will have offense, not sure about defense, but most importantly, he will coach and help develop the talent. Only time will tell if he will be successful...let's hope he becomes our "Dabo" and wish him the best. We all know it could be worse!

I still wanted Dantonio (my very first choice when joining VN), Gruden, or Miles...but Brohm it is...let's do this. But Currie and Haslam still need to GTFO!

That's the problem, we are thankful it's better than Dooley or Butch! That's a huge problem!

Along that line of thought, this would lead one to believe that Brohm will not happen and that the BoT meeting on the ag campus is preparation for said nuclear option.

I think it's safe to assume at this point, that there might not have even been one.

Agreed...but at this point...our options are limited until the $hit show in the AD is out...again, he would not be in my top 3-5 choices, but he is definitely not in the bottom choices either.
