Seems legit

Related to the post you commented on. Beaver repeatedly stated that "these guys never miss" and that they had 5 years to prepare for this. Then - if reports are to be believed - Haslam pulls the same thing he did in the past, used his placed people to go behind the backs of others to hire who he wants. If this group of powerful people was so prepared, how were they not prepared for the same tactic used in the past?

On top of that - if there was an agreement with Gruden that Currie did not follow up on (have seen this alleged) - why wouldn't the powerful boosters have been aware of this and done something about it.

In hindsight - some things aren't adding up.

Let me be more clear: Gruden won't work for John Currie/Haslam after what happened Sunday.

Agreed, and that goes for any other tier 1 coach.

The tier 2 guys are going to turn us down because they are afraid there will be another revolt.

As I see it, the way out is to get rid of Currie, neuter Haslam, and start fresh.

2 questions:

2) what has happened with the showdown against haslam/currie?

Source: Tennessee is closing in a deal with Purdue coach Jeff Brohm. UT interviewed Chad Morris of SMU last night but apparently UT favors Brohm.

If the other boosters not named Haslam are going to use a nuclear option would it not be best to keep it secret? It would also serve best to deny that possibility in MSM outlets and on Vol nation to catch them off guard. Kinda like they did on Sunday with Schiano.

Just my 2 cents.

Exactly.

We will never know the details and what happened for certain.

We only know what people want us to know.
And sometimes they tell us but we don't believe them, because we didn't see it on TV.

directed at anyone.....going back Debbies post you responded to, lets say she meant not recently in regards to your type answer, what was Gruden being told say 6 weeks ago perhaps at Blackberry Farms.....Gruden: “if ya’ll are getting rid of Currie, I’m all in”....probably never know the answer to that ??

It saddens me that I will no longer be able to support TN. I am at a loss over this... I never thought those words would come out of my mouth. SMH

I'd reckon no one expected Haslam to be such an idiot as to actually try and hire someone without their support. The boosters had to threaten to withdraw funding to make sure Schiano was fired, and now they're potentially left without that option to get Currie fired.

I don't think anyone could have game-theoried Haslam going straight Sherman on the coaching search. You can't plan for that kind of stupid. Haslam straight up destroyed any kind of trust the fan base had in the administration just for his own power or out of complete ignorance.

Last time I say it.

I had a private conversation with knuck. He referenced his reaction to our conversation in a post here. People started calling him out over it, and I did not think that was fair. So I asked people to lay off of knuck for something that I had discussed with him. I did not bring the info on this board, and I will not.

The end.

Before you close the book forever. I hear you when you say you will not bring the info here.

But lets just play a hypothetical. If we do end up hiring some google coach. And Currie stays in office. We get on the suck train next year and are no better off than now.

1. Would you then share it?
2. Would you regret not sharing it sooner?

thanks. I'll hang up and listen.

1.) I guess it could be worse

2.) there is no showdown, because no other boosters have the stones to try anything apparently

Is there any confirmation it's actually taking place?!

Just the guy on here saying it was going on around 10-11 this morning. Someone asked Beaver on twitter and he didn't really confirm. Just said that if there were guards, then that meant the governor was there.

You would think that with the evidence against Haslam in court yesterday on top of the underhanded move to try to get Schiano, UT would want to sever ties as quickly as they can with Jimmy Haslam. I think the possibility of an indictment may be the leverage they need to oust him.
