Official Jon Gruden Thread XLV

If you guys really want to get rid of Haslam, expose the truth about Gruden. Have Gruden come out and say he had agreed to be the next coach, signed an MOU, but Currie, Haslam, and Davenport pulled a fast one and hired Schiano behind the other boosters back (Ergen Group). That’s the only way you will get all VFL’s on your side. It would shut the media up and turn the narrative to the inept administration who is killing UT Football. After reading though multiple Gruden threads, that appears to be the narrative.

But what if Gruden is taking the Browns job that will likely be open in a few weeks? He wouldn't say jack about anything if that were the case.

Maybe the worst part of it all, is that since Currie hasn’t been fired yet, he knows he’ll never be fired.
Dude is completely inept at job and still has it.

As fans I think the only hope is the nuclear option, I’m hoping at this point that Currie gets publicly rejected be 20+ coaches.

Maybe at some point the media will realize this isn’t just about an irate fan base.

Beav said they underestimated Haslam and Currie. I’m sorry but how is that possible?? They’ve done this very thing before! There’s proof of what Haslam is capable of and will do. How do you not prepare for that? It’s just frustrating knowing what is about to happen... we’re getting a coach forced down our throat and there’s not a thing we can do about.

I don't think they underestimated him per say, I think if what Beav says is true, I think that they thought that with all their combined might that they thought it would be enough to scare Haslam.

Obviously Haslam called their bluff, he looked them right in the eyes and spit in their's.

He pulled out his grapefruit sized marbles and slapped them on the table and dared anyone to test him.

They then backed down. The only one who had any stones about him/her is that supposed Assoc AD who leaked the Schiano deal.

Again, to this day, after all we know, no one can change my mind that Haslam/Currie didn't have all this planned from the beginning, Schiano was their guy and no one else was getting an interview/call, and it was only the fans who caused Haslam to flinch.

Cause if they didn't make him flinch, he wouldn't have had Bill come out and say that they had nothing to do with the attempted hiring of Schiano.

So now the question is, how nasty does this have to get to get Haslam gone. Apparently the boosters can't/won't do it.

Take it to the fans, give some crazy fan the info that is supposedly bad on Haslam and let the fans run with it.

One of two things will happen, either Haslam will have no choice but to step away from the University, or the fans will get such a bad rep that no one will wanna come here and we'll finally take our place at the bottom of the SEC basement.

At this point, what do we have to lose?

It’s painfully obvious the administration simply does not care nor understand the importance of our football team. They didn’t even come from other programs with big time football scenes. They are completely ignorant to this situation. Look no further than the offer to schiano, he was gonna be one of the lowest paid coaches in the SEC.

The only thing they care about is letting men in the ladies room, stopping Christmas parties, gender neutral pronouns, and all the other idiotic “social justice” movements.

These people are in charge, think about that. We’re screwed

Blackburn has to be AD and it’s imperative that we don’t rush to give Tee the job. The future of the program is far more important than pacifying VFL’s as soon as possible.

I don’t won’t a quick hire either, but I would much rather have Tee than several of the names that have been tried and talked about. Proven or not.

Did you get any sleep last night?

After being hired Currie did some positive things. I believe he also schemed the boosters, along with Haslam's help. He even had me and several other posters fooled that he was running a tight and brilliant coaching search. His arrogance and connection to Haslam scared me, but by all accounts things were going the way of popular vote. Then Sunday happened and true colors were shown.

Exactly.

I feel the same way. After all of this is over, we should keep this thread going. Just renamed to something like The Official VolNation's Finest Thread I.

After all this is over I'm gonna have a hard time getting on Volnation or having anything to do with the Vols unless some drastic changes happen.

?

From my previous post, raise the amount to a couple hundred million and someone who has that time and money who takes this sh** personally. That's what it will take to bury these guys. Nothing less.

You remove the name and all things assoicated with them from UT and take away their earnings that allow them to continue at UT.

You'd have to pay some serious coin to get good provable tangible proof for conviction to get people to roll. #0 mill here, 40 here, and probably more.

So, close to maybe half a billion and someone with the sack of John Wayne and conviction of the most devout Baptist to make any real change.

To add, however, now that Haslam is in bed with Berkshire and Buffet, might not be a battle that can be won.

wouldn’t it make sense that if Currie was with the Tennessee screw job he’d just remove the interim tag from Hoke?

Hoke has shown enough that he can’t captain the ship

Steele is 60 years old and has an abysmal record as HC. We need to go for a young hire UNLESS we decide to go the old route and get Les Miles. Les Miles is the only 60 plus hire that would right the ship and bring in great recruits for the next HC
