Official Jon Gruden Thread XLV

I think the future of the program will be decided in the next couple days, and it could happen at any time.

If Currie is allowed to trot Martin, Dorean, Morris, Steele, or Brohm, it’s time to give up. I mean that.

I think I'm already there. Wished it was Gruden, but, I believe that it might be time to bow out gracefully from this dance.

Behr, thank you for that. Guffawed at work and the weird guy that works next to me stopped talking to me, so a double thank you!

Not sure what you mean, but you're welcome.

Really not in the mood to entertain trolls at the moment.

I like this thread because its kinda like a "sidebar" thread. I feel I can't post about many football subjects without derailing a topic thread.

Obviously I'm like everyone else, but I sure would like to know the details on a bunch of stuff. Gruden, Peyton, Beaver, Bubba, Haslam, Egren, Blackburn, Tee etc.

Oh well. We still don't have a coach.

This is crazy. All of it.

Still Gruden. He has all the time needed to let this unfold.

At this point, there is no reason to make a decision before the Super Bowl. Nobody is going to salvage the 2018 recruiting class at this point and we're not headed to a bowl game. Let the waters calm and keep at Gruden.

FWIW, a lot of the names being thrown out now are Sexton clients and my tinfoil hat tells me that we're going to have a hard time hiring anyone he represents after Sunday unless we pay top dollar for bottom of the barrel.

Beav said they underestimated Haslam and Currie. I’m sorry but how is that possible?? They’ve done this very thing before! There’s proof of what Haslam is capable of and will do. How do you not prepare for that? It’s just frustrating knowing what is about to happen... we’re getting a coach forced down our throat and there’s not a thing we can do about.

Swain says other people involved in the search now besides Currie. I wonder if Fulmer was in Dallas yesterday?

At this point, bring on anyone else to do this thing. Smokey's handler, the hot dog guy, Coke rep, guy you accidentally bump into at the grocery store...

All this and all that... I made a joke in the last thread about loaning my wife out for a threesome... it was an absolute joke!! At any rate, I love the University of Tennessee! However, this coaching search has turned into a f—-show! With that said, we must hire Tee ASAP!!

pics?

Your post tickled me for some reason. I am probably a little drunk from disappointment and anger, but I really did guffaw. I'll take what I can get at this point.

It's unfortunate. I'll keep a sliver of hope alive in hopes the other guys can do something. But, not looking good for us who had larger aspirations with this coaching change.

I am afraid if there was ever anything to the Grumors it's completely dead now. I wouldn't waste any time on attempting to decipher much from his radio appearance this morning. I believe if there was any chance left he would have at least discussed the situation at Tennessee. The fact that he didn't just tells me he wants to completely distance himself from the dumpster fire or there was never any real connection to the situation at all.

I think the last sentence is correct: there was never any real connection.

Here's what I want to know from so called insiders. How are the rest of the big donors not able to get Davenport to listen? What exactly are they saying, if anything? Are they scared to say anything?

For the life of me, I cannot understand how Currie and Haslam are still being allowed to make and approve this hire, respectively. And it is clear that they are.

I’m also sick of hearing about how the boosters are trying to move on Currie/Haslam. It’s time to do it, speak our, or it’s not happening in time.

Sense. You’re making it.

Would anyone here go on a show on your employers network and say, "I'm lookin for a job!"??????

Because they’re entirely out of touch in their ivory tower. Chancellor Dav has no power here as long as they continue to enable the Haslams. I’m not sure they will ever be able to bring UT back to it’s glory.

Looks like we will wind up going up and comer again and will be paying another buy out in three years. What a mess.

Pretty obvious now that all the talk about a civil war between boosters, Currie and Haslams are nothing but mid level boosters.

If this were diamond boosters, something would’ve already been done. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see anything happening at all. Status quo.
