Would be funny if Haslam's manipulation of the coach hiring caused an employee or two with knowlege of Pilot case to get so pizzed off that they flip.

Haslam will let Currie and UT swing if there are any legal liabilities relative to the Schiano mou. Or he will use it to pay off Schiano and further cement his hold on UT.

I miss Andy Holt and Dr. Joe.

The issue of choosing a coach for UT is just a game for them. They enjoy winning at all costs, no matter what the unintended consequences for the other parties. They don't give 2 sheets for our fans or athletes.

Can someone clear something up for me?

It seems as if many in this thread use "Haslem" when referring to the individual interfering with the AD.

My understanding is that Jim is the Haslem who is interfering. NOT his son Jimmy.

Jimmy is the one facing Federal investigation.

Jimmy getting convicted or not will have no bearing on the interference occurring with his dad, correct?

Im just a pawn in the grand scheme of things...but without a lackey like Currie at the head of the AD...won't Haslem lose some of his influence on the decision making front...I guess what I'm saying is couldn't the other high level boosters just say heck no to Currie and out him. I know the process isn't as simple as that but it has to count for something. Although I never thought that PM could stoop to that level and I guess I was wrong about that as well.

I don't see the Haslam's taking the fall for the Pilot stuff, they will pay a few million to some lackey's family to go to jail for a few years and when he gets out he will be set.

and by jail I mean some white collar/resort minimum security jail.

The old dog is running UT into the ground and coaches know it. UT is going to be a laughingstock if they don't look outside their bubble. Good grief the potential here is enourmous and it's being sabotaged by some that only care about their money machine and control and power. :rock:

All this and all that... I made a joke in the last thread about loaning my wife out for a threesome... it was an absolute joke!! At any rate, I love the University of Tennessee! However, this coaching search has turned into a f—-show! With that said, we must hire Tee ASAP!!

What truly stopped the Shiano hire? He could have forced it through. Why did he flinch?

What if this is all one big conspiracy? Say Fulmer and Manning went along with the Schiano deal but urged the leak. They knew it would blow up and Currie would be forced to resend and left holding the bag. House of cards?

The Gundy trial and error was in haste, and Gundy reaffirms his long term commitment to OK ST in a disappointing year. I’d like to wake up tomorrow and see CPF as our AD and a real coaching search begin.

Because it turned into a PR nightmare imo but if they hire Chad Morris nobody will have a right to protest simply because he unproven. There is no pedophilia attached to him.

If Currie and Haslam can get CM signed while people are sleeping then it will be a done deal in the morning. Haslam and Currie looks to be hell bent on finishing this program off. I cant believe after Sunday that Currie would even try to talk to CM after VN went off. Tennessee is not even getting a decent coach. I think the Gundy interview was all a smoke screen.
I know when they announce this clown as HC , I am done and I hope Neyland is empty next year.

Totally agree. They realized after Sunday they would have to get it done under the cover of night this time, so Volnation would be sleeping and not torpedo the deal. Chad Morris is gonna be the new coach IMO.

IF the Gruden interest is real as has been presented, then (IMO), that card must be played in public, sooner rather than later and you must force Davenport's and DiPietro's hand.

In other words, Currie and Haslam must be publicly humilated. It has come to that. When they played the Schiano card, the booster faction must man-up and take the gloves off and Gruden must Shiz or get off the pot.

Exactly..even with social media. It wasn't just Clay Travis. To many high people were standing by. People who take campaign donations.

They may be willing to let the school burn in the process...but what about their own reputation as an ambassador of TN?

I dont think thats why they protested to begin with. I think they protested because nobody wanted him and the fans are sick and tired of throwing their money away on these pathetic coaches that TN has hired before. From what I was seeing at first when the fans were going off was the simple fact that Currie was hiring Butch 2.0 and then all of a sudden the Penn St stuff started coming out. Either way if CM is hired the University better be prepared to lose money because thats what is going to happen

I thought the Gundy leak was a smokescreen today but not for the purposes of hiring another coach. The Gundy news broke suspiciously close to the article regarding Jimmy being on audio recordings of those scam training sessions. I assumed it was to divert attention away from that story. Who knows at this point.
