Seriously, if Peyton Manning is ****ting on Tee Martin, it's the pettiest thing I've ever heard of. I hope that isn't the case.

Because either he has some bad blood because Tee won the Natty or something (which I find unlikely).

OR

It has to do with lobbying for a GM position with the Browns or getting some sort of political leverage which the Haslams can offer. This situation is the most likely because Peyton's interests in politics and the idea of him being the GM isn't new.

Some of you guys need to take off the orange tinted glasses and realize that Tee is not a good hire. He has never been a head coach and has been a slightly above average OC at best. I like him and would take him as a staff member, but the HC job is too big for him right now.

He was being tapped to get Georgia Southern's coach. That's a Sun Belt team that hasn't been in FBS that long. He wasn't on any major team's radar.

And this is the place that was decrying any "up and comer" and "learning on the job" types. I'll say it again, if his name wasn't Tee Martin, not one person would be calling for his hiring.

I'm wondering that myself. If there's any proof that Peyton is the one standing in the way someone needs to produce it. Otherwise this bs needs to stop.

We just got turned down by a homerun hire offering big money. No reason to settle on Tee just yet. Plenty of good coaches out there. Nothing against Tee but why fire Butch and hire Tee? Makes no sense. Offering Tee is just desperate IMO

After today's Gundy debacle, for the second time, truly saddens me.

I would have got the deal done with Tee and re-united the fan base unless Gundy was already a done deal.

I truly don't understand why Peyton still refuses to go to bat for Tee on the search committee.

Tee has been true champion in everything that he's done.

Clemson's HC coach was a coordinator and so was Fulmer.

Somebody else is going to give Tee a shot and we're already at the bottom of the SEC.

I'd he honored to bring Tee home as the Vols next head coach.

Does Peyton have bad blood towards Tee??? and Peyton helped bring Butch into the fold.

Everybody can't believe he signed off on the schiano deal either. Haslam is the problem. Wake up Vol fans.

For me at least, the potential for it ruining a legacy is very high. The same people cheering for him to get it will be calling him every name in the book in a few years if he doesn't win.

I wouldn't mind him being the HC one day, but this is not the situation to let him take over.

For being a young OC with little experience, his resume is impressive:
- Brought USC from #30 in Total Offense to #10 in Total Offense
- Semi-finalist for Broyles Award (Top 15 Coordinator)
- Recruiter of the Year Award
- Offense at USC was an instrumental part in their 10-2 record as they have a #81 ranked defense.

Also could have a rallying affect on the fanbase due to being a VFL. With a high-dollar supporting cast, Tee would be a perfect fit in this situation.

I get that you really want Tee to be our coach, and I’m warming up to the idea of bringing him back too, but let’s not attack Peyton who has shown throughout the years that he’s a true VFL and as even donated millions of his own dollars to the school.

And this goes for other VFLs that may disagree with us.

I'm not saying I'm against a Tee hire. I just think he's not ready quite yet. I would hate to see him get fired 4 years from now. He won us a NC and is beloved. I don't ever want to feel towards Tee the way I do Butch and Dooley.

Tee coming here and not succeeding will never take away from what he did for the university as a player.

I just don’t see how it would benefit him to be in bed with the Haslams. It’s not like he needs money from them. And clearly most of the boosters are against them too so their influence seems to be diminishing.
