Dabo swinney had less of a resume than Tee but was the same age as him when he became the head coach of Clemson. He’s doing pretty well isn’t he?

Kirby smart was 39 when Georgia hired him. First year was rough but look at them now. Tee is as ready as both of those guy’s.

Great analysis. Tee is the same age as those guys, so he's got to be successful.

yep

alot of you saying hes not ready dont even know if hes not ready. How many coordinators do i need to name for you that ended up being good coaches? Clay Helton works with him daily and said hes ready. But yall are gonna believe Haslam? or Currie? or Peyton who is not even around the guy at all.

It's really a moot point arguing. Haslam is making the decision and apparently he is not interviewing him. But please everyone, tell us a million more times that Tee is the only hire to make.

Give Tee a chance. The worst case is that he fails just like all the other duds we're looking at will fail and he goes back to being an OC on the West Coast somewhere in 3-4 years.

Best case is he's actually a solid head coach, fills his staff with great assistants, and locks down the state, reaping the rewards of a massively growing in-state talent population.

At the very least he sells more tickets than Kevin ****ing Steele and loads up the roster for the next guy.

Well I would think Fulmer and PM would know exactly what kind of working he is.

Again the schedule of an assistant coach is much less demanding than a head coach.

Look I am not saying that is the case just bringing up that a possibility since Hubbs apparently mentioned.
I respect PM but I bet he has no idea what Tee Martin is like as a coach. Go look what Clay Helton, Tee’s boss, said about him. Go look at the fact that Tee is a Broyles nominee. Go look at the fact that he’s been national recruiter of the year and that he remains one of the best in the country. Go look at all the former players begging for him to come home. The narrative that he isn’t ready is complete BS. He’s as ready if not more ready than Dabo swinney and Kirby smart who were both 39 (same age as tee) when they took over P5 programs. He’s smart and driven and will learn on the job. Bring. Tee. Home.

Someone please make a sound argument against Miles that doesn't involve no one else is offering. We all know the unwritten rule of older prominent coaches is they are dead. He has barely been retired one year.

I don't know why nobody's talking about Les. He's beat all those bozo's in the East and Saban. He's a moral person, he's hilarious--he'll eat Neyland Grass.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if that actually happened. Send Hue Jackson to UT and finally, FINALLY get his man GREG SCHIANO back in the NFL coaching the Browns.

Why would we hire a 60-year old Kevin Steele, who won fewer than 10 games as a head coach, over 64-year old Miles, who has 2 SEC titles and a national championship?

Like, I get that he fell off his last few years, but "falling off" was going 9-3 or 8-4 in the toughest division in college football.

He wants the job. For goodness sake, just hire him.

Browns hire Shiano and it mitigates the damages, hell its not the worst idea I've seen tonight.

Agreed on PM not really have any idea how good a HC Tee would be. I think he just sees other Much more qualified coaches ahead of him.

Completely disagree that His experience is like kirbys. Kirby had NFL experience along with 8 years as a coordinator for the greatest coach of all time. Tee still isn't a real coordinator with all the play calling responsibility

If Tee were ready to run this program-- which involves overseeing and managing something like 150 staffers and players-- he would have been called and interviewed. If he hadn't won an NC here, people wouldn't even give him a thought. The job's much too big for him right now. He needs to go to a smaller program and get some real-time experience.

I understand your point, but that's why you have Phil around, and you bring in help. Also, he has been at USC and has seen how a big program works. It's not like he is coming high school.

I agree with you a little on the NC point, but even if he didn't win a NC I think folks like that he is a VFL more then anything. Then you add all in all of his recruiting success and people get excited. One of the biggest issues fans are concerned about is recruiting. Well this guy can do that in spades.

And fans would be excited and would be ok with a rough couple of seasons as long as the recruiting classes made up for it.

I don't want Miles at all, but yes. Steele over just about anyone at this point is the death knell. That's the final nail in the coffin. We're done at that point. Not coming back from it.

Can't do it. Even if Miles has some skeletons in the closet...we were on the verge of hiring Schiano linked to overlooking sexual assault on children. Les has a national title and a winning record in the SEC. But we're cool with Steel and his absolutely abysmal record? "Least he has TN ties!":crazy::crazy: Get out of here.

Jimmy pumping up Steele because he recruited some dude 30+ years ago was hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

We're gonna hire him. Just watch.
