Per my information, after the fiasco on Sunday DiPietro and Davenport stepped in and asked Fulmer and Peyton to run this search.

Currie will not be fired and is very valuable when it comes to structuring the contracts and raising the funds.

If this Gundy stuff sticks, we all need to write thank you letters to Phil.

How the thing should have been ran all along.

Currie was a prideful man who thought he could do it all alone and without the Power T. He was very wrong.

I'm willing to let him learn from this IF we land Gundy and IF he includes the soul of our beloved team in everything he touches from here on out.

Agree, but he better not railroad the coaches. He needs to give them freedom and let Fulmer have relationship with Gundy or whoever. Especially if this is true:

Gundy gets "legitimized" the second he agrees to be Tennessee's head coach.

I think he's vastly, vastly underrated and overlooked at OSU. He's a top coach. Top 15 and perhaps better.

Would have his pick of excellent assistants in the SEC.

The stat on his recruiting classes just got me fired Up

...Just so long as he doesn't think that will work here...

I am not against the occasional 2 and 3 star players that he thinks he can coach up, but he should be able to get at least into the top 15, if not higher.

Coaches like having fast, strong, athletic players. He'll be like a kid in a candy store recruiting to Tennessee. And unlike Butch, he knows what the hell he's doing.

If Gundy isn't hired, it still sends a message to agents and coaches that we aren't messing around anymore and we'll pay for a good coach
