This thread is a great example of the uninformed morons who think they're running the show at UT. Currie made a great hire in Schiano and you guys @#$% all over it with your tirades and whining and moronic protests. I've been a VOL fan for decades and have never seen such a mess brought on by a so-called fan base. Tennessee will be lucky to hire anyone at all now. Currie's biggest mistake was listening to you whackos on Volnation. Do some actual research and you'll see that Schiano is a widely respected coach who even brought Rutgers into relevancy and has been hired by the best of the best, including Belichick, to strategize with their teams and coaches. Good job morons.

Riddle me this. There are numerous openings all over the country right now. If Schiano is such a great coach them why isn't his name being mentioned as a candidate for any of them?

Wow! Didn't know all that. In that case it's just a matter of hours/days before some other big-time program profits off our mistake and snatches him up. Wonder who the lucky team will be ...

LOL.....it more of an example of a TROLL.....Schiano who cares...Butch 2.01.....and he is unacceptable.

Currie...not an AD...should not have been hired in the first place. Really needs to move on or be fired. Has done nothing for the University but drawn a pay check and let the program go to waste.

Should have look at Holly and should have fired Butch immediately after the game, but that wasn't on the agenda. Currie left a dead man walking on the sidelines and knew was going on... No accountability to the Student Athlete or the fan base. Maybe if Hoke had taken over the could have salvaged the season...Instead Currie programmed the team for disaster.

Thinks he owes one booster all the attention and power vs owning up to anything with fan base. Corporate mentality.

Loyalty to a Booster vs loyalty to a fan base and the Student Athlete. He needs to do what is right and resign.

Why didn't we hire Blackburn again???

Stop. Just effn' stop.

He is not a widely respected coach. He is though of as a complete as..ole most places he's been.

He was berated by Tom Coughlin for be get a prick

He was cursed out by PM for being a prick

His former Tampa Bay players hate him

He is much closer to being widely reviled than widely respected

Yeah. They are beating down his door trying to hire him! As for Rutgers, he can not hold camps in Florida anymore. And he was 2-9, 1-11, 5-7, and 4-7 his first four years. He would be fired by year 3 or 4 if we hired him.

This entire fiasco is pure entertainment. Reality is stranger than fiction!

So here's what I see happening in keeping with the nature of this process ...

I expect Currie to set up a UT campus Town Hall meeting for people to ask questions and voice any frustration. Yep. TBA will be 1/2 full. Pitchforks galore. As soon as Currie walks out from behind the curtain the crowd will immediately start in with a chorus of boos, hisses, and downright expletives. But before they can even finish a boo properly, following Currie through the curtain will be Chuckie in an orange tie with his wife and family in tow. The place goes silent as JC says welcome everyone, I've come to introduce the next HFBC at UofT. You can hear pin drop before the place erupts into cheers as G walks to the podium with that poop eating grin on his face ... :-D

In literally seconds, Currie will become a folk hero and the fans would start taunting Bama before the end of the day! Soon.

If the hire was such a good one Currie and the administration would not have backed down.

I think he’s actually out interviewing and working as if nothing is wrong. Unless we here something soon, he’s going to bring us a bag of steaming hot poop in the form of mike bobo. I don’t think he’s worried at all about his job and doesn’t care one bit about what we think.

If he doesn't care what we think, why didn't he just go ahead and hire Greg Schiano?

Currie could help himself just a little bit by going out and getting Lane and giving him good money for assistants...like T or Steele.

Because he had State reps and high end boosters on him. We lit the match but they provided the heat. He cares about his job not us. And it looks like nothings coming from it with him out interviewing Morris and Gundy.

Disagree. Mike Gundy would be an infinitely better hire than Greg Schiano. At least there is a search now.

If he is SOOO great, why does no one else want him... there are a whole bunch of head coaching jobs open this year. Why has no one else hired him?

I keep asking, all you Schiano fan boys keep ignoring.

He was such a "great" hire now that he's back on the market I'm sure all these schools with openings will be lining up around the block to hire him

I would like to know Peyton, Fulmer and others involvement in this conspiracy. I read somewhere Peyton signed off on him.

Rutgers LOL
This is the SEC. The least they could have done is get a coordinator from the SEC as in Georgia. This was a great example of the buddy system. Why does Currie still have a job. Fire him. Cause is obvious. No buyout.

Why do the Schiano sheep never respond when you present them with the fact literally no other school is, was, or will look at him for their opening? Cat got your tongue?
