But you wont huh. Just leave it at that so you and two other folks get a good laugh?

Sorry just noticed this was merged to a Gruden thread where we are supposed to allow this fantasy play out. So ill kindly exit and laugh at the fact that people really believe the deal was done with out the knowledge of the person doing the deal and all currie had to do was reach out and would then be the most popular ad in ut history, but didnt lol, yeah thats it.

Edit: soon.....lol

SEC Network said Tennessee fans won't be happy until Gruden is hired. I would add and a few fired!

There are plenty of coaches we would be happy with that aren't named Gruden.

Chris Petersen
Gary Patterson
David Shaw
John Harbaugh
Bob Stoops

Just to name a few. However, Tennessee fans announced in one giant voice they will no longer stand for mediocrity. And furthermore, did not like one bit the AD trying to sneak in a hire.

No, someone said it earlier (don't recall who, but I'd love to attribute it) that if Greg Schiano was such a great hire, why in the everlasting blue eff hasn't ESPN said anything about Florida or Moo State or Arkansas or any number of teams not interviewing him yet.

Eff those guys.

I don’t have an answer for that question. It is a real possibility that he could make the next hire. Unless he is being forced to resign in short order.

I will hope for a forced resignation before he can do anymore damage, I am not sure the ole ship of UT football can take another direct hit

I think it's real obvious Tee isn't ready. Amazed at how many on this board keep saying Tee. Look at USC's offensive stats. Underperforming based on talent they have. For example, Memphis put up 48 pts on UCLA, USC only managed 28, 7 of which was a punt return for TD. Compare last few years recruiting ranks, Memphis isn't even in the same stratosphere as USC talent wise. Yet nobody wants Norvell, but everybody on here wants Tee. Can't understand it

And who is Memphis OC? VFL

I heard on FSN today that Peyton actively made calls to drum up support for Schiano at behest of Haslam.

IF TRUE, then I will rethink my fondness for PM.

Me too

Peyton can't play both sides of the field and I read that he was sending all the old VFL players tweets to get on board with Schiano.

Tee's are best shot and we need him back home.

If Peyton won't go to bat for Tee, then Peyton is not the Vol that I once knew and loved.

I’ve really grown to admire him. We’ve been dm’ing back and forth. I’m convinced the snarky, immature Beav in the beginning was either alcohol or an act or a little of both. But this guy really is looking out for TN. He said “we are working hard on number 1 and 2 from what i posted last night” when we talked.

i just can't anymore

I could live with Tee, certainly.

He's not the tier we were originally looking for, but as a fallback at this point, he's attractive. And a VFL, which will heal a lot of wounds over coming months and years.

And who knows, he might be capable of championships, with some growth in the job.

Yep, wouldn't complain about Tee. Be pretty content.

given the current state of the Vols program, the skills that would be needed to stabilize, rebuild, and elevate the program might just be way above TM's ability at this point in his coaching career.

that's about as polite as i could be.

I really didn't mean to ignore. Did that person ever explain 'I'm pretty cereal.'

Was it autocorrected from surreal?

I think they meant it as a joke. some people substitute cereal for serious. I think it was a meme at some point. but I'm kinda old for that stuff.

if it wasn't a joke then I have no idea.

I'm just back here to make sure that no one is still listening to Beaver or any of those other know-nothing posers. I'll hang up and listen, thanks.
I'm not going to the door to look but are people like ya'll lined up in line going...."Oh, Oh, Oh,, I got one for em, this will really piss them off, hold my drink...."

BTW....after all your drive bys the last few weeks, your style still sucks !!

Make Gruden an Offer he can't refuse, All the Bad news and controversy will go away- Until he Publicly says NO there is still a chance if the Administrators get off their ass & Get the Gruden- Everybody has a Price & we need to Up the Commitment to Tennessee Football by getting the Gruden.

Uh..well i don't think tee is ready but I just saw where tee was being congratulated for the offense putting up the best numbers in 10 years. Those BTW were when USC was at its peak winning nattys

Real downgrade from a Gruden/Tee package...

True, but if Gruden says no.... Cut is a really badass fit.

I still think that if he didn't leave after the title, Tennessee would have one 1 or 2 more.

In his short return we get to the SECCG and got better each year.

Also, when Currie gets “let go” the media will make I*t* a story of how this “ridiculous” fan base not only stopped the hiring of a good coach, but had the AD fired too, so when we don’t have instant success we will turn on whoever the coach is. You know, we are the only fan base in America that wants a successful program. (Blue font)

I would not be surprised... Some of the media have their own agenda and we do not fit their model for people standing up to right a wrong. My Father taught me that "True character is displayed in doing what is right regardless of popular opinion".

We are Tennessee by God... The home of the brave Volunteers who have stepped up and shined whenever called.

Our measure of character and excellence for a UT coach who is the face of our program and state, was set by Neyland, Summitt and Fulmer. Not the misguided mouthpiece of a lost society.

Stand Tall and Make good choices...
