I wanted Gruden first and foremost like many of you did. It’s now being reported by Bruce Feldman that the power players that was normally involved wasn’t involved in this attempted hire. However now they very much involved because of the blacklash this Cherished university has received. In my opinion I believe the VFL are gonna rally come and support us in our most needed of times. As we are getting blasted by the media and other news outlets.
Let us not forget we are the volunteer state and we will rise and fight when trouble meet us at our door.

Serious question...and I vomited a version of this yesterday when I was at peak anger...

Who in their right mind would come here for 2 reasons:
1- Coach XYZ has gotten wind of how toxic the Administration is at UT and decides it's not worth the headache.

2- Coach XYZ hasn't heard anything about the admin but sees how the fans are perceived and being roasted by the national media and decides it's not worth the headache.

Yeah maybe, but you must have not seen Cumberland Ave lately. The strip alone is worth coming for. LOL

So serious question, why, if all of the "betraying" is true, don't the big money boosters that had Gruden lined up just say no more money at all until Currie is gone and Gruden is here? If its all true then it should be easy to do. I know if I was straight up lied to it would be easy for me to call their bluff.

A booster here made the point constantly threatening to withdraw money is bad business practice. They threatened it to get Schiano removed and don't want to throw it out again to remove Currie. Also said he's likely gone as it is if the pressure keeps up.

Still more believable than an AD secretly trying to hire a coach completely unilaterally and hidden from everyone else who was supposed to have a voice in the matter only to be stopped by an adept colleague who had to leak the information knowing it would blow up and sabotage the deal to SOMEHOW avoid 5 more years of a toxic program.

That's the plot of a good TV show, and it actually happened.

Yeah, im not sure why we are not looking for a new ad. But there was no Gruden deal.

I agree with your post, but the problem I see is while we are committing to this long term pressure to have Currie removed, he will in the mean time saddles us with a lower tier coach and let the one real opportunity to land Gruden slip through our hands..

How do we handle this?

I don’t have an answer for that question. It is a real possibility that he could make the next hire. Unless he is being forced to resign in short order.
