Personally don’t want him anyway.
Go get Kiffin

If you’re Lane Kiffin, realistically, why come here?

He’s winning at FAU... in Boca Raton, which is where wealthy people literally go to die.

A better job than us will hire him in the coming years if he keeps it up, and he doesn’t have a money issue.

Don't know if you all seen 99gators post but here it is .

But, it was also about Pearl, Cuonzo and Tyndall.

It was about Delmonico, Raleigh and Serrano.

It was about the tragic end of the Pat Summit era and watching that program slowly be just another SEC team under Holly. A good team for sure, but not what once was.

It was about an athletic program that arguably is currently inferior to Vanderbilt.

It was about finishing 13th overall in the SEC men's all-sports standings for 2016-17. It's about not producing a men's SEC championship team since 2011 men's tennis.

It was about an athletic program that has failed and disappointed time and again. And through it all, people continued to cheer, support, travel, pay and hope.....only to be lied to, let down, and forced to endure.

But, this time would be different. The President of the school changed. The athletic director changed. All of the past failure was well documented. It could not be repeated. It would not be repeated. This time it was going to be different.

And then it wasn't.

And the people, who only have their voices, stood up and said "hell no". As many have pointed out, it united this fan base like nothing else in a decade. Everyone agreed. Everyone had enough. "Hell no". In a matter of a few hours, the push back was so strong that those in power had no choice but to listen.

I know that Tennessee fans are catching hell in some places, but I can only put myself in your shoes and say "I get it".

I'm not going to get political, but what happened Sunday is a lot like what happened at the Presidential ballot box...and that has nothing to do with either party. The people were tired of being taken advantage of over and over and over....stale lying politician after another, and they finally took a stand and gave a big eff you to the establishment.

Vol fans have finally had enough and reached their breaking point. That is usually when real change takes place.

The leg work was being done by the boosters.

Sara. This is the same narrative that was payed out in 2012. I want Gruden. But Exile has a soap opre. Knuck says his source are not one either side, but can't tell where they are from.

I believe this is screwed up. But yesterday our University of Tennessee all but hired someone else. NO WAY if they had Gruden, Kelly, FROST etc this would happen.

Something's got to give. Go ahead knuck send me your insults.

Honestly though, and hear me out here, I would be okay with that if it meant that we had a coach here for more than just 3 or 4 years, which I think every rational, and even most irrational fans, would understand that it would take a few years of him learning on the job. Furthermore, if it meant that we could finally get someone in here with ties to the university, someone who gets our passion, and someone who can recruit and would be smart enough to surround himself with experienced assistants, I would be all for it. Sadly though, I truly foresee us going with a Brohm, Bobo, or someone of that caliber because Currie will be too scared to roll the dice on Tee.

One thought I can’t get away from when considering how successful Tee could be as our coach is this:

After PM graduated and Tee took the reigns no one would have believed we had a shot at a National Championship but he did it. Dude is a winner and has passion for UT.

I would be much more comfortable with him as coach in waiting behind Gruden for a few years but I will take him over Brohm or coach McGoogle all day.

Boosters were pushing for Gruden. I am not sure about Peterson and where it came from at the moment. It wouldn't surprise if it was bs. I don't know Gruden personally. Obvious reason was yesterday why everyone was so secretive. When I said 100%. I still had a bit doubt, because of Haslam. 2nd time he has done this. Who put Haslam in as AD when it was supposed to be Blackburn? Who do the BOT answer to? There are your answers to why I think it was probably Schiano the whole time for Currie, while smiling at the boosters for Gruden.

the old bait and switch.

Serious question...and I vomited a version of this yesterday when I was at peak anger...

Who in their right mind would come here for 2 reasons:
1- Coach XYZ has gotten wind of how toxic the Administration is at UT and decides it's not worth the headache.

2- Coach XYZ hasn't heard anything about the admin but sees how the fans are perceived and being roasted by the national media and decides it's not worth the headache.

Or maybe he wanted the actual University to put an offer on his table. The offer boosters put in front of him only had so much teeth. Maybe he was trying to pressure the AD to put the official paperwork in front of him. Right now, we can safely say that Currie was “dragging his feet” or better worded it was never an option for Currie.

Without being rude, if youre still thinking that, youre not listening and are probably in the wrong thread.

This is beyond having the right guy. We had him in 2012 and Hart and Haslam torpedoed it the same way they tried to yesterday. Difference between then and now is they underestimated the minions whonthey thought they could slide another one in on. Not this time. Not when dude is tainted with pedophile stench. Us minions pushed back.

If we are lucky this is still salvageable.

Ya know, I never even thought about that in regards to being told he couldn't do it, only the win us a Natty. You have a very excellent point there. History shows, don't put doubt on Tee.

I watched a man offer TN tickets the other night to ANY vet who sent him an email asking for tickets. Be mindful, he wasn't offering to just a couple of people he opened it up to all vets. Then he included people with small children. I watched a young lady in distress Saturday because UPS got the order mixed up and her tickets wouldn't be delivered till Monday. He made a call to UT and had tickets waiting on her at the gate...mind you, in Terrace seating. Ask yourself what kind of pull he must have to get endless tickets, much less terrace. He came here this a.m and left a message. Then I had a call with someone else, I'm on board completely. If I ever think for one minute anyone is being fooled, I have NO issues calling them out. I believe! With that said, the clock is running, we cannot under any terms allow Currie to make this hire. He's a snake in the grass along with Haslam. The only area I disagree with people on is that it HAD to be more than just the two to pull off this big of a lie to boosters.

And this is exactly why the gruden threads are more than just the label when you click on it to come in here luckily I was able to be in here at the time all of that happened so to the person you're speaking to Sarah Clark I'll give him/her a pass if they wasn't,but it is truly beautiful to know a stranger can make a child's day and our vets without knowing them at all I love this state I love the people in it and personally we are a one of a kind fan base and try we all our best to help others, this is the volunteer state where everyone is a neighbor kinfolk or not, since that day I've held Atlanta_Vol to the highest standard as a poster and a human there could ever be for just one person

Technically everyone in the AD reports to Currie but it is not quite like a normal reporting structure. The assistant AD’s are fielding calls from from boosters. Account reps are dealing with lower tier donors. Condredge has been getting calls as well. That entire staff has been getting their asses handed to them today. I didn’t say the nuclear option was off the table but you have to be careful it doesn’t become a paper tiger. If every time something doesn’t go our way and we threaten to take our money and go home we look like spoiled children. Playing that card means walking away from years of investment. It is a break the glass type thing and I’m not sure it will be needed for what unfolds next. Last night was a react right now issue that had to be stopped immediately. Removing John then Bev will be much more calculated and maybe even a drawn out process. I know many would love to just reset with the right people tomorrow but it will not be that easy. One thing that separates people in power is they usually have a strong will to win and they know most people don’t have the guts to pursue long term pressure. Bottom line is they know weak willed people quit. That is why I am saying the pressure has to be constant and we have to commit to it long term.

I agree with your post, but the problem I see is while we are committing to this long term pressure to have Currie removed, he will in the mean time saddles us with a lower tier coach and let the one real opportunity to land Gruden slip through our hands..

How do we handle this?
