Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

No offense, but clearly the powers that be do not care what he says. So if he's that influential, you and I have a very different definition of the word. From what I saw yesterday, it is clearly evident that Currie and the bunch took us all for a ride and it was not the one everyone has been getting on here, myself included. I trust certain insiders, but the Beav and his ludicrous thriller-novel conspiracy theories never hooked me. I enjoyed reading them, but it's evident that he was not the type of person some claim him to be. Dude said weeks not days but weeks ago the Gruden deal was done. Anyone who was as confident as he was and then to see that crap show that went down yesterday, clearly knew nothing. You cannot tell me that he is that influential only to be blindsided like that. Just doesn't add up. But I digress, this will get us nowhere and I really don't want to hate on a fellow Vol, there's enough of that going around. There should be only two targets for everyone's hate at the moment: Haslem and Currie.
Fair enough and no offense taken. Many like myself believe in what Beav has been selling which is to to replace a group of individuals who have held UT back long enough. Don't like war analogy but in some ways that is what this is and it's only begun in some respects. In anycase, we all have to latch onto whatever gives us hope individually and no, I'll not hate on a fellow VOL either....GBO !!

BULL! Haslam should not be the driving force at UT, and it cannot be allowed to continue.

Why I 100%, no holds bar, could not agree more with you, do you have billions of dollars to throw at the university? Unfortunately money talks. I'm a huge fan of George Orwell's Animal Farm, we read it in my English class every year. Haslam is Napoleon, Currie is Squealer, and we're the Boxers of the farm. We've worked our tails off, we bleed for the university, and when we finally think it's time for greener pastures, they're trying to send us off to the horse slaughterer with a crappy hire.

Sara, why do you still have hope that Gruden is still a possibility? I want him too, but it appears that ship has sailed.

I watched a man offer TN tickets the other night to ANY vet who sent him an email asking for tickets. Be mindful, he wasn't offering to just a couple of people he opened it up to all vets. Then he included people with small children. I watched a young lady in distress Saturday because UPS got the order mixed up and her tickets wouldn't be delivered till Monday. He made a call to UT and had tickets waiting on her at the gate...mind you, in Terrace seating. Ask yourself what kind of pull he must have to get endless tickets, much less terrace. He came here this a.m and left a message. Then I had a call with someone else, I'm on board completely. If I ever think for one minute anyone is being fooled, I have NO issues calling them out. I believe! With that said, the clock is running, we cannot under any terms allow Currie to make this hire. He's a snake in the grass along with Haslam. The only area I disagree with people on is that it HAD to be more than just the two to pull off this big of a lie to boosters.

He's about the only one not named Gruden that could truly unite the majority of this fanbase.

Tee is a Tennessee Icon but i don't think he is quite ready to be a Head Coach of Tennessee Yet. I am concerned we are setting him up for failure if we bring in him in as HC at this point. One day he may develop into a great head coach for Tennessee but let him gain more experience as an OC here first then promote upward.

Anytime something like this arises cause will be evaluated. So my answer is yes but I have not been told directly by anyone at this time.

The thing now is do not let up. Write, call, text, tweet. If you know anyone booster, player, BOT, legislators, make it your mission to help. This does not need to stop with Currie.

For those that are worried about the national media making us look bad. Stiffen your back and do what’s right. Stand up for Tennessee and don’t be a wilting violet in the face of a bunch of wind bags. Many people give lip service to giving your all for Tennessee and now is your chance. Don’t go quietly or be shouted down.[/QUOTE]
