Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

I'm actually starting to think boosters and VFLs did talk to Gruden, but Currie never pursued him. Why else would all those VFLs be tweeting what they did and all the reports of them being contacted by Gruden. I'm thinking Gruden was preparing to get a call and never did. This is another AD botch job.

Not sure I think this is true, but short version...

Boosters thought Currie was signing Gruden.

But Currie signs Schiano.

Boosters think it's getting announced Tuesday, tomorrow.

Friday Currie wants Neyland clean fast after game on Saturday.

Sunday he's set to announce Schiano. Chit hits the fan.

No way it gets botched that fast by only fans.

Something happened, cause it's still happening. Lol.

Is the cheese on or off the taco? :)

So do we have a coaching announcement tomorrow? I have been out for a few and was wondering how the coaching search was going.

Actually I am very proud of Vol Nation, whether you are just a fan or went to school there, proud day to be a Vol. We simply didn't sit back and take another s*** sandwich from this administration, one totally inept booster family and the ignorant national media. It amazes me how many in the national media making GS the second coming of Gen Neyland and Bear Bryant.

He was not that good of coach to begin and please stop all this crap of how he made Rutgers good. Yes he had a few good years, but also a lot a bad ones. Remember Al Golden and how he was going to be a savior for any team because he had a couple of good seasons at Temple? Ask Miami how that worked out.

Again I just wanted to say I am proud to be part of the Gruden thread, an alumni and a Tennessee Volunteer today. Everyone else can go to h***.

Lol all of this is expected. When the 30 for 30 is made, we’ll all be encouraged about what happened yesterday. There was so much passion from a fan base that will no longer settle on just anybody as head coach.

I still believe there was some truth behind John Brice’s tweet about Schiano being a smokescreen and then things changed. If it was a smokescreen, he had to be the biggest scariest smokescreen in the history of smokescreens. Ultimately, Schiano is not our coach and thankfully. The administration had to know that Schiano would not be the coach here and it would not have been well-received.

It’s been said that tomorrow will be a very exciting day for Vol fans. We’ve made it out of the storm and let’s see if a rainbow comes from all of this.

This is a Gruden thread so we need to get back on subject.

I’ll hang up and listen.

We have to remove Currie and Haslam before we hire a coach. What happened yesterday was sabotage.

As much as I agree with this post, just stop please. I admire the creativity and the way you were able to get us even a little bit of hype, but you're clearly not an insider like you claim to be. So I would advise that you just stop posting in here until the storm settles, because at this point others like myself are just outraged at not just Currie, but everyone like yourself who claimed "inside" knowledge only to be full of crap. And people can say you were spoon fed false information, and that is definitely truth for some, but for you it's not. Why? Because of your whole "Ergen is vying for supremacy" nonsense you gave everyone a month ago. I had my doubts then, and everything about yesterday only confirmed your true side.

at some point, Tennessee state legislators could very well become involved in this as UT is a state institution.

so public opinion and pressure is an extremely valuable resource in the fight to break the Haslam influence.

Speaking as an educator, you better hope not! The politicians have ruined the educational system in this state; so I can only imagine how much worse our athletic department would be following anything close to this thought...

Is the admin looking to see if there is cause with Currie to save the buyout?

Anytime something like this arises cause will be evaluated. So my answer is yes but I have not been told directly by anyone at this time.

The thing now is do not let up. Write, call, text, tweet. If you know anyone booster, player, BOT, legislators, make it your mission to help. This does not need to stop with Currie.

For those that are worried about the national media making us look bad. Stiffen your back and do what’s right. Stand up for Tennessee and don’t be a wilting violet in the face of a bunch of wind bags. Many people give lip service to giving your all for Tennessee and now is your chance. Don’t go quietly or be shouted down.

He's just saying that because JG wanted Schiano. I doubt the rest of them feel that way. It's not like JG has a ton of influence over the rest of the team. He's not Josh Dobbs.

JG can pack his $hit and leave on the same bus that Currie should be leaving on as far as I'm concerned.

Guarantano father comment not a smart thing to do right now

Twitter

He can shut the hell up..his son is a 3rd string at Florida if he were to play there, a local walk on is more promising than him ,his son hasn't led us to anything positive,he can follow butch as far as I am concerned if he can even figure out how to get out of his on driveway since his son can't find his way out of a damn pocket,I'm tired of the backlash we have gotten over "fans rejecting a hire" that wasn't even top 10 on anyone's list and knew about a child rape going on,who in their right mind is ok being around that?..not me not my university no way!
