Tee would unite the fanbase. I'm sure there would be some holdouts but it's hard to root against the guy who brought you your last SEC and national championships.

The last time around, the fanbase doubted Tee could fill Peyton's shoes. We expected a down year. Then he turned around and showed us. Now some doubt he can fill the HC spot. Let's see what he comes up with this time.

You’re not even saying anything too different than I am you’re just so hell bent on defending him, when there isn’t even anything to be defensive about, that you can’t comprehend what I’m saying. I’m agreeing with you!

He nailed the search. He had better info than anyone. We agree on that.

You said in your post that “he is not gonna word his info to paint them in a negative light”, which is exactly my point.

He is protecting his interests. Didn’t say he was wrong for it.

He WAS wrong to say the backlash was because of the Gruden crap though.

Agree

They are both top recruiters.

Tee has so little experience, he may not even be ready for a G5 HC gig, let alone Tennessee. He hasn't ever worked for a seasoned, successful HC ever, so he'd be learning almost everything on the job. Would be such a bad, bad hire, and firing him would be painful.

It is. That's why you insulate him with guys who know 100% what they're doing. Let him grow into the job in an environment where it would be tough for him to fail.

Make him what we hoped Butch Jones would be. Head recruiter and the face of the program.

Much better face of program than Butch. Recruits like him and he's actually a Vol. (National Championship at that)

At the least Tee would unite the fanbase and have everyone's support from fans to vfl's across the board. I'm convinced he would recruit lights out and have an outstanding roster. Can he coach?

He was in on this search. Per Ainge, Hyams and Hubbs.

He doesn’t need to be consulted again. Ever.

It's been said he didn't know about the penn state stuff. He signed off on him as a coach.
Don't blame him at all. Others should have shared that part

This whole time everyone thought that Peyton was going to save the program, be more involved, be influential, but in the end it's Tee Martin that could end up saving the program. The guy who did what Manning couldn't might just do it again.

Oh and I wanna go on record and apologize to Bass, inVOL, and Ulysees for giving you all grief about not being patient with Currie and saying Blackburn was screwed and deserved this job.

You guys have been around this program way longer than I have and I naively wanted to believe that the people in charge had good reasons for their actions.

It’s obvious now that I was wrong and you guys knew better than I did all along.

This is why I like you..But it is hard to believe a major college Athletic Director could ever be this big of a puppet, or that billionaire puppet masters could be this stupid.

IMO... We are stuck with our next coach for at least 5 years regardless what happens on the field. Let Tee grow as a coach, he will have his ups and downs but it will be just what the program needs to have Tennessee blood back in the program. We know he will be able to recruit. Put some knowledgeable experienced coordinators around him and let's ****** go.

I hate this but I also like it.

0% chance Tee would be a worse head coach than Butch was in any capacity, and Tee would recruit light years better and have a much better staff around him. He is a potential star coach down the road, and I'd rather have him here at UT than somewhere else like so many other VFL's. Give him a chance. It's a mutually beneficial situation given the state of our program right now.
