Can’t believe how many of you are jumping on the wagon with the possibility of a Brohm hire. Just a couple of weeks ago many of you were saying you would be out if we made a hire like that. Is he a better hire than Schiano? 100%! Is he the hire who will unite this fanbase and what we need to get back to relevance? I’m not sure he is. We didn’t need someone who may get us there. We needed someone who was proven as a coach, a proven big name, and proven elite recruiter. That is what we needed to get us back to relevance. This hire doesn’t do that immediately. Not sure how well he will recruit. I’m worried the SEC will eat him up and spit him out, like it does almost all up and comers.

This is brutal as an alumnus and huge diehard fan. I will do as I said I would do, if we didn’t hire a proven big name. No more games for me, and I won’t buy anymore TN merchandise. If Brohm or whoever it is that we hire can prove that he can win big, then I will start investing my time and money in the program. What a sad time for this proud and loyal fanbase. We don’t deserve this, but it’s why we keep getting these low tier hires, because we support them no matter what has happened to get to the point of that hire.

He needed to come out and say it instead of releasing a statement.

Let's also end this stupid notion that UT was Gruden or bust. Maybe a small faction was but the vast majority saw it as a cool hire if he came but was open to plenty of other coaches.

That's lazy reporting and not even close to being true

This wasn't JUST about the Penn State case, it was that he was a sh!tty hire whose involvement in that case was enough that he was mentioned in court testimony or depositions.

That's MORE THAN ENOUGH to scratch his name OFF THE LIST as a potential candidate.

But what does our AD do? Allegedly names him the #1 coach on his board and then HIRES HIM. If you're going to make a questionable hire, it better be on football related issues, like Win-Loss record (which is below .500) or X's and O's ability...but DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT A CASE INVOLVING MULTIPLE CHILDREN BEING RAPED BY A FOOTBALL COACH YOU WORKED WITH AND POSSIBLY HAVE WITNESSED BUT DID NOT REPORT.

National media belittling that testimony can GF themselves. That's not something that should ever be taken lightly.

And here we are hoping to God we hire Jeff Brohm. What a mess....

I thought brohm would be a good hire at all points. Is he Petersen or gruden? No

But imo he has a very high upside and is as good as any other candidate outside of those two. Who, let's face it, we're very pie in the sky candidates

Schiano is 10x the coach Dooley is, and yet we didn't revolt against the Dooley hire or the butch hire. Anyone who wants to put forth a shred of effort in understanding yesterday's phenomenon can easily see this had much more to do with the PSU association than it did with football, or we'd have protested a hundred times harder when we got butch and Dooley.

Edit and on top of all that, a little more effort would reveal that boosters and legislators killed the deal, not outraged fans. I just hate how lazy the media is. But we might as well get used to it because nothing generates clicks like bashing Tennessee.
