Probably was told two months ago that is who Haslam liked. He’s not calling the haslams or anything like that. Hubbs has lots of contacts.

He either got updates on it or that source was like "Brent, Jimmy Haslam is desperate to hire Greg Schiano."

Had to be something like that for Brent to keep his name in the mix all the way until the end. Or maybe just mentioning the words "Haslam" and "Schiano" in the same sentence once was enough for Brent to keep his name in there the entire time.

It's just disgusting how much power that dude has, given his incompetence.

what is making me nauseous is why I am reading "apparently we reached out to Venables this morning..."

THIS morning? WTF!!!!!!!!!! You should have reached out 2 MONTHS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Currie is obviously way over his head. He wanted to come off looking like some stealthy ninja AD and he's obviously just a stooge. He needs to be gone yesterday. He's an arrogant fool. He ruined his career.

The only shameful thing about the Schiano protest was that too many Vols fans made it about the Penn State situation than the football coaching. Clearly, McQueary's secondhand retelling of a story in a sealed court document is not anywhere enough to think Schiano was directly involved in a cover up. We're just like Florida during McElwain's death threat period, we saw blood in the water that would let us get our true goal, and we took it. I do believe that some fans truly were disgusted by the Schiano connection to PSU, but most of us just wanted a better coach and saw an effective argument to get one.

One thing here that's interesting. Like some others here, I'm an attorney as well. I haven't heard of many cases where breaking an MOU would be cause to have to pay money or a settlement. The only reason I could see that being plausible is if Schiano had another head coaching opportunity that he turned down. Then he would have an equity argument for reliance on this contract. I don't see any way that contractual damages come out of an MOU. that's the whole point of an MOU.

It's going to be hilarious when Currie introduces Jeff Brohm/the next coach today/tomorrow and acts like yesterday never happened.

Raja Jubran is jimmys source. Could be one of Brent’s also.

Schiano better be thankful that Associate AD leaked this.

Can y’all imagine how bad it would look if we are protesting in the street and burning stuff as he’s being formally announced?

Dan Patrick saying UT fans are delusional thinking this is a top tier job. The only reason went didn’t want Schiano was because we didn’t like him as a coach and we’re using the Penn St. basically as and excuse.

Also brought up the Title IX lawsuit and asked where the protests were.

Bama 247 on Pruitt

Out recruiting for Bama at moment. He is MS St #1 target to replace Mullen. Could be in play as a top choice at TN but nobody knows who TN *•#1 is

Wonder if he said that about Bama in 2006?
