To me Schiano is a know quantity as far as a coach. Nothing he's done as a coach is impressive at all. Do the people in charge of UT football have no football intelligence at all? As far as a questionable human being, there have been other instances besides the Penn St thing that showed he is a dirt bag.

The human being part is very, very concerning

But Rutgers and a DC for a top program is not nothing

I’m sorry but I can’t agree with Hubbs on the Gruden front. I do agree that it should have been squashed in the public light the moment it wasn’t possible. If it never was, you squash it in the CBJ firing press conference. What I don’t agree with is that Gruden was a key part in the backlash.

Say we would have hired Mullen: there absolutely would have been a small faction of the fan base that would be upset it wasn’t Gruden but guess what, Mullen would be our coach today. The reason the backlash went so strong yesterday was for 2 reasons: The PSU scandal and his perceived implication in it, and the fact that there are numerous accounts of how ****ty of a person he is to deal with and how players disliked him. Couple those two things with the fact that he’s a mediocre coach to begin with is why their was a backlash.

I wish Manning would butt out of stuff. But now it appears that he's buddies with the Haslams.

Eric Ainge said Peyton and Phil didn't know. I had a hard time wrapping my head around Peyton going all in on a guy who encouraged players to try to take his knees out.

Serious question.....Should we (the fans) start a GoFundMe page and raise money ourselves as an upfront bonus for a coach of our choice. Lets say Gruden, Peterson, or Frost. If we don't hire one of these coaches, everyone gets their money back. Would that work or even be enticing?

We are done with Gruden. His name is mud now. Verboten.

Boosters (ex Haslam) = decision makers. Incompetent and only concerned about their power and profits.

Agree to disagree, I guess.

I’m not saying it happened for sure, it’s speculation, but I don’t think it’s inconceivable that these guys who give lots of money, some of whom have built massive businesses, wouldn’t or couldn’t set Haslam up to take this on the chin in order to gain more influence.

Unpopular opinion coming, but he was toward the top of my board in 2012. I think he's a pretty good coach, and if it weren't for the accusations about him, I'd have been pretty happy with the hire, assuming he got some assistants who could recruit the South. He did a solid job at Rutgers, good enough to get an NFL job and to get Rutgers into a solid conference.

I don't get it either. If anything I've learned from all this is that Brent Hubbs is the only one we can trust to give us the real information. I'll never doubt Hubbs again.

It’s really confusing how they are interpreting his responses as carrying water. I’m just dumbfounded.

I think by Gruden not squashing the rumors and get this fan base hopes up once again we should nix this thread for ever. Very shameful that he has let it go on this long. He does not care about this school at all. I hope he never steps foot back on campus again personally

With the Flying J/Pilot trial starting this week, combined with this crap show the Haslams tried to feed UT. I public boycott of any Pilot/Flying J this week would be publicity they just can't deal with.

#boycott Pilot/Flying J

I did not stop for my coffee this morning. A very small drop in the bucket, but it's my drop in the bucket.

Gave up 55 to Iowa, barely 500 at Rutgers, overall losing record, multiple people claiming he’s a martinet, called to to dive at victory formation players knees a 2nd time, has been cussed out for same by greatest Tn player ever...
