1) Did we ever actually interview anyone else or even contact to gauge interest from coaches such as Frost, Petersen, Mullen, etc.?
2) Kind of a follow up to the first question, Has Schiano been the pick the whole time?
3) Do you think this was mostly on Currie or mostly a Haslem choice or both?
4) Is there some kind of split in the Athletic Department right now and between boosters? Meaning one side was duped into thinking this search was going a completely different direction than it went?
5) Is Currie and/or the Haslems that out of touch with the pulse of the fans that they thought this was ever be a good idea? Even if you take the Penn state stuff out of the equation, I think there would have been plenty of uproar on this hire from a fit and coaching standpoint
6) What is each of you guys personal opinion on the hire if it would have went through? From a coaching standpoint, fit, perception and if you thought TN could have done better?

There are plenty of good coaches that we never should have even been looking at Schiano. There are plenty of current HC's or even top coordinators that make so much more sense than Schiano. Just mind boggling.

They won’t because a lot of them get their info through Haslam and people close with the Haslams

If the Haslams were out they wouldn't have to be at their mercy any more. It's about freedom!

The last part, lol

That whole "Good father, husband" bit can be said about countless scum throughout history. It means nothing. Its a canned answer for defending somebody.

The whole "Good father, husband, coach" bit has also been said about scum, like Sandusky and Paterno.

Guys Charlie Ergen isn’t the savior he’s been made out to be. Fantasy stuff orchestrated by that beaver troll.

Exactly. Ergen is known to be a tight wad mf'er. Gives very little ****s about the university, and is getting up there in years so is unlikely to change.

If what Deerpark said is true, several key UT people personally flew out to Colorado to try to talk him into giving more money to the reno. And he said GTFO.

The whole beaver thing was so dumb. I would have been more vocal about it but ATL vol is golden here so not allowed to question him.

Going forward I think ATL has some explaining to do. My take is he is a nice guy with some money but isn’t what this board thinks he is.

I'm guilty of putting too much trust in AV. Not again. Awesome person, but knew nothing about this coaching search. He said he was comfortable with the plan. You can't tell me that if the plan is Schiano.

Hyams saying manning gave his approval for schiano.... did I hear that?

I wish Manning would butt out of stuff. But now it appears that he's buddies with the Haslams.

I disagree. You want a chancellor that doesn't meddle in athletics. We saw how a meddler is in the booger man. She's perfect, sit over there and do your thing, be a cheerleader. Stay the Eff out of the athletic side.

Agreed.

Let the AD do his/their job. How about just hiring competent people to their jobs from now on?

Except for those 10’s of millions of dollars he has donated... but yeah

Those are a dollar for dollar deduction on taxes for someone like him. Not saying it's not great deed and way above and beyond, but it's of great benefit to someone who owns a company of that size and any good CPA is going to tell him to make charitable donations to the tune of X per year and to buy real estate via an LLC so they can take depreciation against their income. These are ways the top 1% pay less in taxes. It pays for the Haslams to do this not just for tax deductions but it makes them THE booster in power pulling the strings. So I guess my hope is another large booster with same capabilities takes that slot. Someone with no history of running a bad football program like the Browns.

With the Flying J/Pilot trial starting this week, combined with this crap show the Haslams tried to feed UT. I public boycott of any Pilot/Flying J this week would be publicity they just can't deal with.

#boycott Pilot/Flying J

Serious question.....Should we (the fans) start a GoFundMe page and raise money ourselves as an upfront bonus for a coach of our choice. Lets say Gruden, Peterson, or Frost. If we don't hire one of these coaches, everyone gets their money back. Would that work or even be enticing?

You're giving too much credit with stuff like this. The decision makers involved with this University are clearly not capable of orchestrating complicated scenarios like above. They base their decisions on one thing and one thing only. How can I profit from this.

I’m not talking about anybody currently working for the Univeristy.

To me Schiano is a know quantity as far as a coach. Nothing he's done as a coach is impressive at all. Do the people in charge of UT football have no football intelligence at all? As far as a questionable human being, there have been other instances besides the Penn St thing that showed he is a dirt bag.

Wow Hubbs has his nose so far up Haslams ass it’s not even smelly anymore. He’s done his job being loyal so he could get that info and charge that 9.99. Prudent but I’d like to see him take a stand on the optics of the Sandusky association
