Guys we give Hyams a hard time here. He's the punchline for jokes because he is always late to the party. But he verifies thoroughly before he states something as fact and qualifies personal opinions every time. He said repeatedly and as late as The Sports Source show yesterday that they were going after Mullen and if they didn't get him it would be Schiano. None of us would buy it.
What I take from that is:
Hank is correct in his statement.
Mullen was never sold on UT, but was ready to go bigger. Our play on the field, roster disunity, Currie's arrogance, House of Haslam meddling, etc. would all play into his decision. He knows he can win at UF - with lesser talent. Will need to recruit a QB to run his O. In three years he will be a handful to beat. That doesn't mean our guy will not beat him.
