Some UT "fans" are total pieces of poop

You morons can only look at the surface. One, he's not guilty of anything, all your doing is reading keywords then letting your imaginations do the rest. Two, his record as HC is not the full story, he's a badass coach, you people are just too lazy or too stupid to know it.

That's right. Total pieces of $h^&. All this nonsense seems to have been brought on purposely by fans. No one at UT gives a rats a$$ about what that guy was doing at Penn St. He has been a head coach at two major programs in college, a head coach in the NFL, and now a DC at Ohio St. If he had a role in the Penn St scandal it would have effected is position at one of his previous stops. Awfully convenient that UT fans dont like the choice, now all of sudden he is at the heart of the Penn St scandal. What a joke. Unreal.

You couldn't said it any better. People acting like Schiano was Currie first choice, and I believe that it was his last option and this fan based ruined that. Overreacting on a situation that been done and over with and im pretty sure Ohio State did there homework before selecting him as a D coordinator. Schiano is a damn good coach..

He is not the hire they all wanted - they wanted Gruden and that probably was never going to happen. What this is, is buyer's remorse... now I am not saying fans should be happy but it is buyer's remorse at this point.

The court reports were released in July of 2016, IF Schiano was truly innocent why didn't he sue to clear his name? I mean he does have the resources money wise, I'll tell you why because he didn't want lawyers and investigators digging anymore into the story than they already had.

Not really buyers remorse. We returned him. May have to pay a restocking fee, but we returned him ...

Rutgers is a major college program? and what is the other one? i can't seem to find it.... hmmmm

He was Miami D coordinator back in Miami great years 99-2000.. He built that Canes Defense when they was great. That's why he was hired at Rutgers the Year Miami Won the Championship. This man is a great football coach and a disciplinarian.

Sorry but this is what comes from hiring a bunch of Northern, Academic, Elitists who have NO connection or Loyalty to UT!!

They can't see past their Chardonnay and Brie Cheese to what the "Trailer Trash" Fans want! And they are so Arrogant they think ALL their decisions are Brilliant and anyone who disagrees is to Stupid to understand!! :banghead2:

He is not and never will be the head coach at the University of Tennessee. Time to move on.

Also, since Schiano is no longer a candidate I believe it would be appropriate to merge all Schiano threads and move to Around the NCAA Forum.

Fans are right. Terrible coach choice. He has not been a head coach in 10 years. Defensive coordinator at Ohio State gave up 50 points against Iowa a few weeks ago.
Remember Donnie Tyndall, Dooley, Kiffin. Petersen, etc

First, as to the PSU issues. Nobody has said that he's guilty. He is, however, undeniably tarnished by the scandal. In today's climate regarding sexual abuse, you don't pay a man 5M dollars to be the face of your brand that is tarnished. You would have to be foolish to do that.

Second, he is not a bad ass coach. He was horrible in Tampa. I know several players that played for him. He is a low character, high control guy that nobody felt they could trust. Sound familiar? Most tOSU fans with any knowledge want him gone. He isn't a very good d coordinator for them.

Finally, if he is so damn good... why was he completely unemployed after being fired in Tampa for 2 or 3 years. Guys that are bad ass coaches don't find it hard to get work.

I know he had some success at Rutgers... when they were in the Big East but otherwise what has he done? Seems tOSU Gives up a lot of points to decent teams quite often under him as well.

If he is such a badass coach why hasn’t anyone else scooped him up?

A coach's record is what gets him fired or an extension. You can be the best coach on the planet but if you cant show the results in the win column what does it matter.

Never once said i supported the guy. Just bush league of the fans to not voice there concerns until now. Especially, if they felt so strong about this guy being totally not hireable by UT.

He was never discussed as a potential candidate

Currie INTENTIONALLY KEPT THIS HIRE SECRET FROM THE START!

Any time Schiano's name came up it WAS met with negativity- there just wasn't any smoke coming up from the AD because Currie wanted to hire his old butt buddy.
