He really Thought he was something. Flying around like a lone wolf. Going rogue.

I am telling you he is just like Butch. He knows better than anyone else. I am going to win and I am going to win in a very clever way that none of you would have guessed. Incomprehensible short-sightedness.

going forward can we all agree no one on this board knows anything? Gruden was done two weeks ago right? Wrong I doubt he was ever in play to begin with.

As much as we dislike what a lot of our local media put out there regarding our team and our program, the fact that we all were absolutely united with our media that this was a bad hire on so many levels is all the evidence that anyone should need to know that this was not simply a bunch of spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum. Anyone who writes otherwise either has not done their due diligence or has some other agenda.

Brent Hubbs a couple days ago.

“I don’t think it will happen but I can’t drop him from my list.”

You know why? Hubbs knew who liked Schiano as a candidate. Hubbs floated that name way back in October too. So he’s probably known for a while this was the Haslam choice.

What is weird to me is that somehow the Haslam name never gets mentioned by those who cover UT. So much power that we can’t even act like this was their doing. That needs to change. It’s amazing to me they are billionaires and aren’t smart enough to be competent boosters/fans for something they supposedly care about.

And double Gauldens to all you jerks that dumped all over me for pitching a fit when Currie was hired instead of Blackburn. I told you he was just a puppet.

I did not dump all over you, but I was one of those who was willing to give him a chance even though I really wanted Blackburn. You, of course, were completely correct. Currie started out well but he lost it all when he chose to get on that plane to Columbus. Beyond dumb.

Speculation in FF is that other members of the AD were opposed to Schiano, and an associate AD leaked the information to Wolken while Currie was flying to Columbus. Currie had been telling some mid level boosters what they wanted to hear, but he was doing his own thing. Frost and Mullen became unavailable.

High level boosters are pissed and want Currie out and would consider bringing Blackburn in. What really hurt Currie was the political pressure after boosters used their connections.

If this is true, then whomever leaked it should be promoted.

If this is true, I am grateful we have at least one administrator who knows what is going on.

She doesn’t know jack about squat. What choice did she have? State Reps, future Governor and former players along with power people were all united in wanting this nuked.

She’s part of the problem.

Currie thought he had his guy and was all like:

You know what, I was just thinking, and we all need to take a collective lap for thinking Brent Hubbs was out of the loop this time around and had no idea what was going on.

He consistently named Schiano and we all laughed and hee-hawed about how Currie was able to hide everything from him.

WELP.

We all need to ride with Hyams and Hubbs. They still have the best sources. I keep doubting them and they keep proving me wrong.

This is how I feel as well.

I don’t know what he knew. I don’t care. I’m a criminal defense attorney. I absolutely believe in due process more than most... when stripping somebody of their liberty. When it comes to making someone the face of the state’s flagship university and paying them millions, proof beyond a reasonable doubt isn’t necessary to step back and say “this isn’t a good idea.”

That’s what Penn State’s admin and fans did to defend Joe Paterno. And it was disgusting.

We may go 0-36 for the next three years and I still won’t give a **** about Pat Forde, Kirk Herbstreet, Dan Wolken or any other moralizing jack ass media mouthpiece. Some things are bigger than football.

Great post. Can I please request that you change your avatar?

We are gonna have to take a chance on someone now. We need to remove this pencil neck bean counter from the equation and appoint Philip Fulmer or Dave Blackburn as AD right now.

Probably asking for too much because the leadership as a whole stinks. Currie isn’t the only problem we have. Runs deeper than that. Too many people worried about things other than winning. Building facilities, renovations and the bottom line.

We were about to hire Greg Schiano for about $3m. Think about that for a second. We are turning the biggest profit in the country and we are settling right out of the gate for that.

Zero leadership. Nobody wants to win.

The VOLS are all together in this..

Anyone who takes their name out of consideration for VOLS job is someone we didn't want anyway. Didn't want Mullen, he bolted for Florida first chance he got.

The National Media may look down their nose, but I think this is the best thing that could have happened for our team and fan base.
