There’s just no way for Currie to come back from this. He basically has two options:

1. Say that a certain booster forced his hand. This makes him look like a b!tch and he’s basically throwing a big donor under the bus. Not a smart move.

2. Say that he thought Schiano was the man for the job. He proves he’s an idiot, but at least this way, he owns his mistake.

Either way, I can’t see Currie lasting much longer. I’d imagine they will want to hire a new AD before they hire a new coach. Which means they’ll want to get a new AD as soon as possible. So if Currie is going to get fired, I expect him to get fired tomorrow.

If UT AD is smart they keep their damn mouth shut and get to looking for a viable replacement with a board in place for oversight. Airing out the laundry now will ONLY make this worse.

Behind the scenes. Yes heads should roll.

I hope UT doesn't consider any Sexton client if he tries to weasel a big settlement out of us for this MOU. Schiano was ready to back out, too. UT should have pushed for a mutual termination in Columbus.

Tee won't make it over 3-5 years. However, he ain't Schiano, let's roll.

Lincoln Riley no hc experience and has Ok on the verge of playoffs

Kirby Smart no hc experience and has GA on verge of playoffs.

Malzahn recently in ‘13

Jimbo at FSU

Dabo at Clemson

The list goes on and on. You don’t have to have HC experience to be successful. He’s run a successful offense at a high profile school and conference.

I was so excited to wake up and finally feel like we were “back” again. Hearing all these big names, thinking we would be pissed to get a Mullen. Then I see the news on ESPN and my heart sank. I can’t beleive how it could of got any worse but it did. We are a passionate fan base, sometimes bad but it shows how much we care. And today we cared so much that we literally made the football world stop and actually controlled our destiny in that moment. We ARE the BEST fan base. We may be down for a year or so but at least we know how strong we are. Eventually we will be back and I can’t wait for that day. GBFO!

Hell Yeah!

Butchna must be disappointed it fell through :/

Quit talking outya ass and know what you're talking about for once in your life! I know you can't search posts with both hands stuck in your fly, looking for an I told you so.

And double Gauldens to all you jerks that dumped all over me for pitching a fit when Currie was hired instead of Blackburn. I told you he was just a puppet.

Any current player reactions to this? Hate they have to deal with our dysfunctional athletic department. I’m sure they’re hearing it from guys they grew up with / competed against.
Whoever the next coach is has an unbelievable undertaking with the roster rebuild, locker room (mentality, philosophy, weights, etc), local and national media, and possibly upset fan base (although it seems everyone is currently united!).
Hoke, Shoop, Scott et al are probably downing Red Bulls and gas station sushi right now getting amped up to go ‘croot in the morning

Sorry. Just don't think he can get it done IMO. There are still a lot better coaches out there that we can get. Don't listen to the media we haven't killed ourselves. Rejoice, we don't have Schiano.

Do you think that Blackburn thinks Gruden would be interested but we never offer?

I don't know what happened but I think we had boosters working out a deal and I think they were prepared to back the deal with $$ and so I think they are the likely sources for Grumors. I think they believed it was going to happen and that's consistent with reports today of boosters telling Currie that they would be recinding their pledges if he went ahead with his planned hire. I don't understand what's going on on our end but I've consistently held the belief that whether or not we got someone like Gruden it would be up to us not them. I think given recent hirings there msy be some fear among some on our side that we don't want to hire someone we may not be able to control. jmo.

That’s the only negative to Tee, he’s a Sexton client

Wow, if schiano was our 1 that could mean we never seriously pursued anyone else.

Who knows who would have been interested if we looked.

The whole thing smells funny to me with Haslam and Schiano at the browns...

Almost like Haslam had Currie try to sneak around and hire Schiano in the dark. Idk
