Smh. I have a friend that is a south carolina fan who keeps saying we as a fanbase are dumb. He gives no other reasoning besides him saying schiano is a good coach.

Schiano was 68-67 at Rutgers
A failed NFL coach
An arrogant donkey and some of his former players didnt like him.
He made many enemies in the NFL
He was part of a huge child sex scandal cover up.

Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

This. Been texting with my buddy that's follows OSU as closely as any of us follow UT, and he said it's a bad hire. We would be a .500 team and no better. He wasn't sad to see him go.

Correct. But being part of that program at that time, when Sandusky was clearly not hiding his behavior, means there's a possibility he knew regardless of what mcqueary or Bradley said or didn't say. You don't hire someone with that possibility to be your head coach. There was a huge cover up at multiple levels, so it's reasonably possible every coach there knew about it. The fact that he was accused directly makes it more possible. Fair or not, you do not hire someone with that hanging over their head.

We'll never know how close we were. Maybe Gruden just kept raising the bar. I hope he get the NFL job he wants because I'd say he's burned his bridge here.

The national media is utterly corrupt. This is been shown over and over again the last couple of years. Maybe the best thing that could have happened to expose the money guys who could care less about football.

There is nobody in this world that I hate more right now than John Currie! He cost this program millions of dollars and we will have an extremely underwhelming hire, because of it! I want him gone, immediately!

I swear, when in 3 years we fire whoever it is we trot to the podium in a couple of weeks, if one frickin person brings up the name "Jon Gruden" I will flip.

Also forget the losing record and former players in college and the nfl thought he was a total d ck, on the record too, but how do you compete in recruiting with a Sandusky underling as head coach even if he is innocent? This, I completely agree with. However, it's extremely sad to see some posters on here trashing the guy for "covering up child rape" and other such attacks.

He can't be trusted and can't move forward as the AD. Knows how hated he is. Can't and won't operate in the best interests of UT (he wasn't anyway, but still). Will instead operate purely in self-preservation mode. Needs to be fired two hours ago.
